I'm so sorry about the harassment you're getting on twitter. These people really must not have problems to get so upset over some drawings. Your art is lovely and they're jealous and full of hate.
I have seen a few posts going around calling for you to get mass reported so please do take care. Maybe consider locking your twitter for a while to deter the trolls. You don't deserve any of it and I'd hate to see you get suspended over this hate campaign.
If someone could spend this much effort to write fanfic for my ship I would have an endless list of fanfic to read!!!
Sorry, it's just that when I first got into the Terminator fandom I thought hey this is a very popular American movie franchise! I bet there are tons of food to enjoy and a lot of friends to meet!
And it turned out to be one of the most barren fandoms I have been to.
But it's ok. I can draw fanart myself. I have lots of good ideas and I know I can draw very well. I don't care how many notes or likes my post will get either. I love these characters and I have never expected to gain any attention from doing fanart.
I was so happy! Even if no one cared about the art in which I had poured my heart and soul. I spent 40 hours on that John, Sarah, and T800 driving on a car illustration you know. What if no one liked it! I gave a part of myself to the things I'm passionate about, which was rewarding enough.
Until some stupid doodles of dogear and boots went viral, and the wrath of X rained down on me. How was I supposed to know this is the stuff X people are into?
The worst part for me is that people still don't seem to care about the characters I draw! Everyone in the retweets is like "Me n who" or "This is sooo *ship name* coded." The ones who accuse me don't really care about John too, otherwise they would be canceling Dark Fate for brutally murdering him and showing his bleeding corpse on the big screen.
I mean I probably wouldn't feel so bad if Terminator were a really prosperous fandom that had a lot of fan discussions and content, better if someone would ship John and T800 with me. But no, I'm starving here and a mob is tearing down my door while I'm trying to cook some food for myself. It's just so unfair.
Anyway, sorry for venting so much. It has been a stressful week. Thank you for telling me about what's going on. I didn't know you could lock your account before. I hope this will save my account.
#unfortunately I psychically can't leave Terminator fandom yet#I hate having so many ideas go to waste

i don't know why, but in the sparse five hours of sleep i got last night, my brain decided to plague me with dreams of lilia taking care of an elderly silver, up until the final moments of his life. i could hear silver's thoughts the whole time, and he was so absolutely inundated with shame and guilt it almost seemed like he was suffocating. he kept thinking over and over and over again that this all should've been the other way around. he should've been the one looking after his father in the twilight of his life. he should've been his aging father's rock, his safe place to land, his stalwart defender against a world so unbelievably cruel to its most vulnerable denizens. again and again his heart cried out in vain, it should've been the other way around.
as a child he had once wished - prayed, even, to the same force now threatening to reclaim his spirit back into its unconscious designs - for his father to live a long and prosperous life, and it was as though that very wish had backfired on him in a way he never could have possibly imagined
#twst silver#lilia vanrouge#twst spoilers#twst#mumbles#txt#i hate it here#i litearlly woke up crying you gusy dont unerstand#he was so ashamed of himself but not once in my dream was lilia anything less than happy to take care of him#i feel like part of the reason lilia is trying to run away is because like so many of our elderly and our disabled#he didn't want his loved ones to worry about him and âwasteâ their time taking care of him#so he thought the best decision for everyone would be if he just went off to go die alone#i have no idea if twst would actually touch on something like that but i do think you could interepret his departure that way#anyways if any of you have caretakers or aides or just are disabled in anyway#i want you to know you are not and have never been and never will be a burden on anyone or anything#and that i love you so so much#im getting so emotional over a dream fkjgh but i want silver to understand that good parents dont have kids expecting that#their children will someday âpay them backâ for everythinng they did for them growing up!! u don't owe ur parents jack shit!!#silver you just existing as you are is enough for your father!!!

My #1 advice for people moving out is to NOT buy nonstick cookware... not only is the lifespan of nonstick a MAXIMUM of 7 years (usually more like 2-5 years) but teflon, aka Polytetrafluoroethylene-- the plastic coating that makes the cookware nonstick, infuses microplastics into your food.
New cookware sets can cost hundreds of dollars so my advice is to look for 100% stainless steel cookware in thrift stores. Safer, cheaper, & instead of needing to replace every 2-7 years they can potentially last you the entire rest of your life AND they won't start shedding plastic into your food
#x#PS plastic food storage containers are also not ideal... I'm going to replace all mine with glass containers when i can afford it#i bought everything nonstick thinking it would be easier to deal with. i wanted to be cost-effective & save time so buying cheap nonstick#seemed like a good idea but every single nonstick thing I bought either already needed to be tossed in the trash or the teflon is flaking#aka they have become unsafe to use. but i dont have the money to replace all my fucking kitchenware!!!!!#today the casserole dishes that i bought 2.5 years ago are going in the trash. fucking waste of money and awful for the planet#boiling water to get rid of microplastics in a flaking nonstick pot... my life is a joke LMFAOOO#i was going to put a brand suggestion for nonstick here based on what lasted the longest for anyone who absolutely NEEDS nonstick#but when i search for who owns that brand and then searched with israel in quotes... first result was them being voted brand of the year#in israel... so never mind... dude fuck all these big companies i fucking hate this shit#oh btw ceramic is a good nonstick alternative but all my ceramics lasted less than 3 years... their lifespan is about 2 years apparently#theres way too many tags on this already but for anyone who reads them all HIIII and also you can literally find better furniture#on the side of the road than you will ever find on amazon or from ikea or where the fuck ever

i just donât understand. why say ur ready to talk if you arenât?
can u believe this post is what got me to reach tag limit
#vaugepostimg on main about an irl donât mind me#i just. am feeling sad bcus i have been trying to keep my distance and respect the space they said they needed. and then they reached out to#me for their book club and said we should chat and i got excited! i miss my friend of course i got excited#still let them take the lead. i want them to be comfortable. they said theyâd lmk what day they were free#and then proceeded to ghost me for like. almost two weeks??#(âit was 10 days but !!! still!!! almost 2 weeks from them suggesting i come to book club which wouldâve inherently necessitated an irl talk#and then after all that yesterday said they actually werenât ready which. hurted#tbf i knew something was up after like 2 days of them not replying so itâs not like i was fully caught off guard it just really hurt#and like i feel weird bcus our social circles are really overlapped and i spent a lot of time with them last winter and i had thought#that would happen again this winter. we would swim together a lot and i consistently went to their house dinners#bcus if i care about you i show up! and iâm understanding ! bcus i am patient and kind person and as a triple taurus iâm not tryna rush ever#especially when it comes to peopleâs emotions ??? especially if someone has told me i hurt them???? like ik im an autistic lesbian but#despite popular conceptions on that particular identity. im not fucking evil ????? if you ask for space i will give you space !!!!!#and like when it comes to emotions and conflict iâm blunt but iâm caring and it takes a lot for me to be disinfranchised by people#or relationships. so iâm not saying i donât want to still be her friend#iâm just. noticing behaviors#they did tell me that they were very avoidant in conflict and i told them iâm very much not and like. now that iâm on the receiving end of i#idk what to do!! iâm not gonna chase her down like theyâre grown!! and again!!! if you ask for space iâm going to respect that!!!#and like honestly. iâm happy she at least gave me the curtesy of saying they werenât ready to talk even if it took her mad long to do it#so like. who tf knows when weâll talk. if ever. probably when she wants the validation of our friendship if it even happens at all#bcus again. she reached out not to reconnect and clear the air but to check if i still wanted to come to her club she was starting#ik in earlier conversations she was worried no one would come but ig she found people. which like good for her tbh but to be honest i feel#discarded?? iâm feeling like iâm failing to not project too much so i gotta stop but idk man iâm just feeling weird about it all#and then i had the thought today of like. is this what i want in a friendship? someone who goes back and forth abt whether or not iâm worth#which again. kinda wasnât expecting that bcus we spent so much time together last autumn/winter/spring like. many times per week!!!#so the idea of not being her friend all of a sudden?? feels fucjing weird to think about#but like? i donât want to feel this way this is what i hate about west coast/white people conflict resolution!! there fucking isnât any!!!#and i canât deal with that! i canât spend my life with people who arenât going to engage with me as a person who cares about them#humans are fallible creatures and were only here on earth for so long so why are we wasting time here? what is the point of all this ???????#but then the guilt and shame say i deserve it all and at that point i just need to stop so. iâm gonna stop now lol

From hate to love⊠or something like that
Aegon II Targaryen x fem!reader
word count:Â 15.7k (sorrrryyyy)
warnings:Â arranged marriage, hate-to-love, mentions of rape, mentions of incest, mentions of suicidal thoughts, drinking alcohol, mommy issues, daddy issues, mentions of sex without love, unprotected sex, oral sex (f receiving), porn with plot (but something cheap, tbh) and I probably forgot something but I think that makes it clear that this shit is not for minors, so MINORS DNI :)
A/N: I started this since the second season premiere started so if you find any canon-like scenes I completely promise it wasn't intentional. I also want to make it clear that you are responsible for what you read and if you don't like something please just let it go, that would be very kind of you!
And this doesn't make me team green at all, I'm a defender of the rightful queen to the death⊠it's just that her brother is too sexy to ignore đ«Š
Enjoy!

FIRST ACT: HATE
Finding a wife for Prince Aegon II was probably one of the most difficult tasks Alicent Hightower had to face.
The engagement with his sister Helaena had been broken after a more tempting offer for the princess, which would get them a permanent alliance with the Lannister house that they couldnât refuse. Viserys himself had agreed to accept and the queen consort had no choice but to give her little daughter in marriage to a blonde lord. The problem was that her son was left without a fiancĂ©e.
Aemond didn't worry her, after all he was growing up quite quickly and she knew that he was more inclined to become a warrior than to fulfill his marital responsibilities. But Aegon, however, was a lost cause.
It was no secret that Alicent had always felt disappointed in her eldest son. He was careless, lazy, and a hopeless alcoholic, qualities that couldnât be celebrated at all. Now that her beloved father had returned, the queen didnât hesitate to consult him on the matter, hoping that the man had a solution for the problem that afflicted her, and together they analyzed what was the best option to unite the king's first-born son. Especially after, years ago, Rhaenyra and Daemon got married and moved to Dragonstone indefinitely.
âIt must be someone we completely trust, someone who cannot dare to hurt us because they know that their blood is linked to ours.â
The Arryns were loyal to the future queen Rhaenyra and some of the houses south of Vale were too. The Westerlands was the richest section of the Seven Kingdoms and was already secured, so it seemed prudent to the king's hand to go for the next widest section: The Reach. The most formidable options within this area were the Hightower and the Tyrell. Obviously taking the first option would be a waste since the members of that house would support Aegon without complaint due to their kinship, so the decision was made with the direct heir of Highgarden.
King Viserys agreed to the idea without putting up many obstacles, since poppy milk clouded his judgment most of the time and also the affairs of his first son had never interested him much.
The union was sealed as soon as the deal was offered to Lyonel Tyrell, who was extremely happy to be able to assure his family a future with said marriage. It was thus that he gave you, his only daughter, to Prince Aegon II Targaryen.
And the second the boy saw you, he absolutely hated you.
He had come to the idea (very unpleasant, by the way) of marrying his younger sister and now that his mother was forcing him to marry a complete stranger, he couldn't be angrier. In a short time he would turn twenty and it seemed pathetic to him that at that point he would have to offer shows like those before the kingdom. Because the wedding wasnât simple, of course, but thousands and thousands of guests were present at the banquet that Alicent forced the king to prepare, claiming by saying that he had done the same for Princess Rhaenyra's wedding.
âIt is a pleasure to finally see each other, your grace. They have told me a lot about youâ
You had said those precise words the first time you had met, when his mother organized a walk so that you could 'get to know each other better', although supervised by her own eyes that were behind you, making sure that her son didnât commit any indecency. But no matter how sweetly you smiled and spoke them, Aegon could sense that you were lying.
There was hatred in your eyes and a clear resentment towards the life from which you were torn, as if it werenât an honor to have the opportunity to marry the prince of the seven kingdoms. Your hypocritical words represented an insult to the boy and that is why he decided from the first moment that he would hate you deeply.
With your mere existence you would have deprived him of his freedom, his entertainment, his youth. He would be tied to you for future occasions, he would have to take you to all the events, secure your food, your clothes. share the same roof and pretend to be nice to you in the eyes of others. And, besides, he could have thought of a lot of candidates better than you, physically speaking. Your beauty was quite ordinary for his taste, as if he were looking at any painting; cheap and repetitive.
âI regret to admit that I am not so fortunate, Lady Tyrell. But I am happy for the union of our housesâ he lied, in the same way that you had done.
And it was obvious that this didnât go unnoticed by you, that you had the same critical eye as your recent fiancĂ© but that you sought to maintain composure in the presence of your future mother-in-law.
On the wedding day Aegon had a good time only because he was able to drown himself in monumental quantities of liquor and because he was able to eat as much as he wanted of the exquisite banquet. He didn't even pay a bit of attention to how you looked in the wedding dress that the royal seamstresses had been in charge of making in record time, because when the time came he flattered you superficially and then ignored the matter. The ceremony kiss was the first you shared, and it was so fleeting and awkward that the prince felt disappointed. On the wedding night he was so drunk that he didn't even look at you.
You knew that the unfortunate day would come when you would have to carnally please the young man and the simple thought of being defiled in this way caused you terror and nausea in equal parts.
It was a stranger whom you had married, of whom the only thing you knew was his noble title and name.
In the days following your marriage, unfortunately or fortunately, Aegon didnât even speak to you. You didn't have to share a room, so it was easier for him to completely ignore you while he went about his ways.
You had to admit that the only good thing about having taken this trip was the beautiful landscapes that King's Landing offered you. Your room had a direct view of Blackwater Bay and you spent several days looking out the window at the beautiful sea. Sometimes you could watch Prince Aemond ride his dragon, and honestly, the size of the beast scared you a little. You hadn't had the chance to observe Aegon in Sunfyre yet but if he was as impressive as Vhagar, then he would be quite a sight.
A week passed, then another and another where you were nothing more than a guest in the palace. You didn't talk to anyone, you ate dinner alone, you barely saw the outside of the castle. Sometimes you went to the Sept, pretending to pray, but really just killing the endless boring hours of the day. You were somewhat lucky if you found Helaena, the most sensible and calm within the royal family, because you had pleasant conversations with her. When you met the queen it was a little more difficult, because she asked you endless questions in which you had to fake the answers. How could you be fulfilling your parenting responsibilities if the capricious prince wouldn't deign to lay a finger on you?
After a month, Alicent seemed to take matters into her own hands and forced her eldest son to take you to sleep in the same room as him. However, Aegon seemed to want to blame you for something you hadn't chosen. He never spoke to you and every time you went to bed, he would stand with his back to you as far away as possible. And as if that werenât enough, he had explicitly ordered his guards not to allow you to leave the room unless it was in his company. It was his way of punishing you, of getting even for the complaints of his mother and grandfather regarding his lack of interest in marriage.
âMy mother wants us to attend a dinner tonightâ you were so unaccustomed to hearing his voice addressing you that it took you a second to process what he was telling you âI will talk to the maids to bring you a suitable dress.â
You didn't know what to say. You didn't want to go to that dinner, nor did you want to be with him, or wear one of those tight, annoying dresses. Aegon, noticing your silence, deigned to look at you and in your eyes he could see the aversion you felt for him. It was something difficult to mask and he had seen it on so many faces that it was nothing new.
âAs you wish, prince.â
A bitter laugh came from your husband's throat.
âDon't be a hypocrite, for God's sake. I know you hate me as much as I hate you. Save appearances for guests, not in the chambers."
You wouldnât have had the courage to admit out loud what his majesty had said, but you didnât dare to contradict him either. You had to play the role of a self-sacrificing and suitable wife for the man if you wanted to keep your honor, but above all your head.
You tried, with all your might, to see some quality in Aegon that you liked so that you could treat him in a better way, which always resulted in something useless. Perhaps if he had been nicer to you, you could have known how to forgive his faults, but even that wasnât granted to you.
The dinner was mostly family-oriented, with the guest of honor being from House Baratheon whose purpose was to discuss some political matters with the king and queen. Due to his health, Viserys didnât usually leave his room more than necessary, however, that night the occasion warranted it.
âLady Tyrell, how is your stay in King's Landing?â
The king had a reputation for being gentle with his guests and was the first person to ask you a personal question, so the smile you showed him was genuine.
âVery pleasant, your grace. The servants treat me as well as possible and I must admit that the views from my room are beautiful. Your dragon is impressive, Prince Aemond, by the way.â
The boy, who wasn't all that expressive, just looked at you for a moment and tilted his head down slightly.
âI'm glad you like it, princess.â
"And my son? How is our Aegon treating you?â
That question was more complicated to answer, since it required expressing a lie. Everyone present focused their attention on you, except your husband who had been staring into nothingness for a long time.
âVery well, my king. Heâs a good husband and I am happy to have been able to unite our houses.â
The aforementioned snorted, incredulous at what you were saying at the table, and took a long drink from his glass of wine.
âAnd I hope very soon you can give us strong and beautiful heirs.â
Although that was intended as a compliment, you felt the weight of that responsibility pressing down on you again.
âI wish the same. It will be an honor to serve the crown and bear the progeny of a house as formidable as yours."
The queen was pleased with your answer and for a moment felt sorry for you. She knew her son well, so deep down she knew that it wasnât a gift from the gods to be married to him. The rest of the table looked at you curiously, wondering if you were serious, trying to be ironic, or just trying to play the good girl role.
Aegon, as expected, became intoxicated during dinner and when Queen Alicent announced that she was going to retire to sleep you thought it prudent to do the same. Your husband, however, had other wishes.
âStay here,â he asked, his voice serious.
When he was drunk he looked you up and down, probably evaluating how worth it would be to decide to strip you naked and fuck you once and for all. Your body in the dress you were wearing looked better with a few drinks on him.
âI think it would be best to retire, my husband. This way you can stay with the men to chat and⊠drinkâ
âBut I want you to stay here to keep me company,â he insisted, holding your wrist tightly âOr don't you want to please your prince?â
It wasnât a loving request, but one for control. He wanted to have you there only to demonstrate his power over you, without paying attention to you or talking; only as an ornament.
âAegon, enough,â Alicent interrupted, observing the scene that had begun to unfold. âDaughter, let's go to sleep. âI will accompany youâ
âFine, do whatever you want,â he spat contemptuously, abruptly releasing the wrist that was holding you. There was hatred in his eyes, but also pride.
The queen said goodbye to everyone present and then offered you her hand to take you away from there. You spent most of the way in silence, walking through the long, wide corridors of the fortress followed only by the faithful footsteps of Ser Criston Cole.
âYou must be patient with himâ he began to say âHe is a particular man and sometimes⊠difficult, but I know that with your docile character you will be able to deal with his temperament.â
What did she know about your character? She didn't know you at all.
âSo it shall be, Queen Alicent.â
âI understand what you are going through, dear. We both come from the same lands to endure the difficult task of accompanying a monarch. But it is our duty to carry it out with all the honor and temper worthy of our homes. Of course, I can trust that as a woman you will be able to help him fulfill another of the most important marital commitments, such as having children, to maintain the lineage and blood. For a virgin like you, Aegon may be rough, but... patience and resilience are among the best virtues. A woman in royalty must endure these things to give the best to the people.â
You had never wanted to be a princess. And just when you thought the queen was showing you compassion, you realized that she was only looking out for her interests and those of her family.
"Thanks for the advice. I'll keep it in mind"
She smiled and immediately left a kiss on your forehead, which could have been taken as a maternal kiss but which you didn't like at all. The longer you can postpone suffering, the better. If Aegon didn't even want to look at you, it was perfect.
That night, as soon as you touched the mattress and the silk sheets that decorated it, you began to cry until you fell asleep.
SECOND ACT: CONTROL
Time passed again and although the punishment of not leaving your room was not revoked, you found multiple activities with which to entertain yourself in the prince's absence. You filled your mornings and afternoons with reading, writing, knitting and embroidering. The nights were even more boring because most of the time your husband wasn't there either.
Rumors that you hadnât yet consummated the marriage had spread through the halls of the palace and soon the smallfolk would murmur too. After all, the people couldnât entertain themselves with anything more than the gossip and the plays that were going on in the poor neighborhoods, making fun of royal affairs.
You no longer even had the energy to deny those accusations and Aegon had given you the perfect opportunity by throwing you out of his room and refusing to leave the four walls of yours: if you didn't leave there, there was no way anyone would question you. And since you didn't have family inside the Keep, you didn't have any visitors either.
One night, however, your husband surprised you by entering your room. It had been days since you two had seen each other and his staggering around the room warned you that he was drunk again. You often wondered how he resisted drinking so much and the long-term effects it would have on his health, but right now your mind could only focus on the fear of what he might want in that state.
âGood night, dear,â he drawled, sounding as sarcastic as possible.
You were in your nightgown and you were carrying in your hand an old book that you had been reading and that you threw on the nightstand as soon as you saw him approaching you. You didn't have time to say or do anything else when he had already approached you in giant steps to grab you by the back of your neck and start kissing you. He was abrupt, careless, with his mouth smelling of wine and tasting even worse. You wanted to cry from helplessness.
âIt's what everyone wants, isn't it?â he murmured, separating himself from you, but still holding you by the hair at the back of your neck. âA marriage arranged in a couple of days to form alliances. And that's it, my life was ruined thanks to my father wanting your stupid castle to expand his domain."
The truth is that couldn't be further from the truth. Viserysâs ambition had never been that, as he had been so little involved in the process that he simply didnât care who his children were or were not married to. Except for Rhaenyra, of course.
Aegon continued:
"I didnât want this. I didn't want to marry you, or anyone..."
âAnd you think I do?â you confronted him.
You were tired of the insult, the humiliation and him ignoring you as if you were worthless; even if that was what a husband did. And the most likely thing was that your words would be forgotten due to alcohol or that they would put an end to the wait for your suffering to begin and Aegon decided to take you once and for all.
âYou have nothing to lose, prince,â you continued. âYou get drunk as much as you want, you run away from your responsibilities and walk everywhere when I have to stay locked up here all day just because you want me to. I have to endure the suspicious looks of everyone because I still don't have an heir in the womb while you go and fuck your whores."
âI'm the prince and I fuck whoever I want, did you hear me?â he hissed. The grip on your hair had already begun to become painful and a few tears slipped down your cheeks âAnd I stop fucking whoever I want too. I'm not going to please anyone by getting you pregnant. There they will see if they come and force me to put my cock in youâ
âDo you doubt that, your grace?â you exclaimed bitterly âDoubts that will force us to conceive?â
âSo that's what you want? Do you want me to do it?â
âI want to go home. That is what I want. But my father used me as a bargaining chip and that's why I can't do anything."
âI'm sorry it was like that. If I had chosen my wife, I would surely have chosen someone prettier and more educated than you, but I can't do much either."
Once again, the man pushed you until your lips joined his and the same discomfort settled in you. He didn't kiss you with love, but with fury and violence to the point that you had to push him away when he bit you so hard that a trickle of blood began to come out of your lower lip. Aegon was also stained by it and with an acidic smile he ran the tip of his tongue all over his mouth to remove any traces.
Looking at you he didn't look happy, but he didn't look angry either. He just seemed fed up.
Everyone knew, or suspected, that the prince was very capable of taking sexual advantage of any woman. He had done it before with maids and prostitutes and had slept peacefully throughout that time. However, there was something about you that encouraged him not to. He didn't even think it was something about you specifically but about the situation, because he wanted to do the opposite of what he was ordered: if everyone ordered him to take you to have an heir, it automatically became an unpleasant act and at the same time that he refused.
He was hurt, not because of you but because of years and years of abuse and neglect. He didn't really know you at all, he only knew what you represented.
You were just the unlucky one who had married him.
"I hate you. I hate that you are my wife and you are not worthy of me even touching youâ he snapped with disdain. You were still fighting to keep the tears inside your eyes and his vision had also blurred slightly âI wish I had never met you.â
âThe feeling is mutual, your grace,â you expressed, your voice breaking. If it was an offense to the crown, you wouldn't even care anymore and if he killed you right there you wouldn't regret it too much either.
Aegon looked at you one last time before staggering back out the door without another word, closing it behind him with a loud gesture and leaving you alone in the room. The reality that you had escaped, once again, from being raped by the man fell on you like a bucket of cold water and your knees weakened until you fell to the floor.
You were hurt, tired, and defeated by the stress of the situation and the fear that had washed over you the entire time. Luckily he was gone, otherwise you didn't know if you would have endured what he had to do to you. It was better to have him busy in a brothel than to have to endure him in your bed.
You wished you could talk to someone and cry on a loved oneâs shoulder, only to realize a second later that that was impossible. Aegon was your new family, now you belonged to the Targaryens and you would have to do as they wished.
Anger completely overwhelmed you to the point where you stood up from your seat and began throwing pieces of glassware all over the room, in a violent outburst at what had just happened and the way you felt. None of the guards outside your door dared to come in to check on you and soon enough you fell back to the ground, exhausted from the effort.
As you cried, perhaps for the umpteenth time since you had been married, you thought about how you would never be able to love Prince Aegon. Not even if you tried.
THIRD ACT: PAIN
After months, the inevitable arrived. The truth was that the first time you felt sorrow and anger, but the following times it became more tolerable. Not because it was better, but because you began to get used to it. Aegon didn't change his attitude towards you one bit. You indeed spent more time together, although that didnât mean that you got along better or that you had begun to have more sympathy for each other.
The only advantage was that you had started to be friends with some people in the palace. Your sister-in-law, to begin with, as well as some of the maids who were in charge of looking after you, as they turned out to be your only company during those days. Those distractions were more than enough for you, considering the situation you were in, and they kept you sane as time went by.
Almost like a punishment from heaven, it seemed that you werenât pregnant yet, since your biological processes seemed to continue working to the letter. That meant that, unfortunately, you would have to keep trying; when Aegon was lost enough to forget who you were and you had to stand still as a statue to let him loom over you.
You often liked to imagine what your life would have been like if you had stayed in Highgarden. Nobody knew it yet, but there you had found your first love and although it never went beyond a few kisses, you treasured the memory with particular affection. You had always wanted to marry a sweet man who loved and respected you, who would give you your place as a wife and adore you day and night; someone with whom you could feel protected, cared for, but above all happy. You thought, naively, that that boy you had met and who was nothing more than a commoner could have given you that life, but all those possibilities were nothing more than fantasies in which you tried to lock yourself in to feel less miserable with your unpleasant reality.
One night Helaena had invited you to a modest dinner in her company that you couldn't refuse, since none of your husbands were present and some time with friends could clear your mind. You didn't even know where the prince was, although it was expected that he was spending some time in the town with his friends.
âSometimes I feel sad about our situation,â said the blonde. You were in the privacy of her chambers, not even with the maids present, so confessions like that were allowed âBut I am happy that you are my friend, something that wouldnât have been possible otherwise.â
âI'm glad to talk to you too,â you smiled sincerely. âYou're the best thing I've found around here.â
âMy brothers aren't that bad, they're just⊠well, we've had a hard life. And that's why they behave like that."
âI think there is no justification for being aâŠâ idiot, you wanted to say, but you had to remember that you were in the presence of the princess, âa person who is rude to others. But I guess that happens with royalty, right? They do what they want without consequencesâ
"I guess so. Kings, princes, the heirs, lords, dukesâŠâ
âOkay, I get it,â you laughed bitterly âIt's probably a masculine quality.â
You never thought your sister-in-law would have that kind of humor and to be honest, most of the time she was a comic relief for the situations you two were going through. Sometimes her prophecies scared you, especially the way she phrased them, but you wanted to think that her premonitions would never affect you directly.
When you finally got tired of chatting and the food was finished, you decided to return to your room, so you could have a peaceful night's rest. It was raining outside and thunder echoed in the distance, making the atmosphere slightly gloomy, but at the same time cooling every corner of King's landing.
The novelty of your position was no longer important enough to require you to be escorted by guards twenty-four hours a day, so you were able to slowly walk through all the corridors that led to your sanctuary. It was modest but cute, although not on the level of Aegonâs.
A man was guarding the door and you bowed your head to him to let you pass, which he did without any opposition. Once inside you got rid of your shoes and unbuttoned your corset, not caring that the room was almost in darkness; only the moonlight illuminated from the window. You took a few steps forward and squealed when you discovered that there was another person in the room, sitting at the small table with a drink in his hand. You would have started screaming for help if you hadn't noticed that said intruder had silver hair falling like a curtain over his face.
"Your grace?" you asked cautiously.
It isnât usual for Aegon to drink in your room, as he preferred other places with more interesting company, and when you didnât receive an answer you approached slowly. You thought that at best he had simply fallen asleep and at worst he would be dead.
At first his long, wavy hair covered your view of his face, but when he noticed your presence he raised his head and then you could see him. His features became clearer as lightning illuminated him from the outside and for a second you were horrified.
His cheek was red and a trickle of blood was dripping from his nose, however, what surprised you the most was seeing his eyes completely swollen.
âFor the seven, I⊠I'll go call a maesterâ
âDon't even think about it,â he exclaimed hoarsely, seeing that you were already rushing towards the door.
Your husband didn't sound like his usual angry tone, but rather he seemed... hurt.
You thought for a second about what the appropriate reaction to the situation was. You couldn't leave the room because, in addition to the guards murmuring, it would be impolite to leave him in that state; also, where would you go? If you ignored him, he would probably take it as an insult and he had already made it clear that he didn't want to see someone who could take care of those injuries.
You hated him, it was true, but you weren't an insensitive monster either.
"Who did this to you?"
Aegon was surprised by how soft, even kind, your question sounded and the intoxication gave him some courage to answer.
âMy mother and my grandfather. Mostly my mother, my grandfather rather dedicated his efforts to reminding me how useless I amâ
You didn't know what to say. You never believed that the queen would be capable of hitting one of her sons like that. You didn't believe it from any mother, actually.
With some trepidation you took one of the chairs and placed it in front of him, expecting him to immediately push you away or ask you to get out of his sight. However, the prince didn't seem to have enough energy to do any of those things.
He had a lost look on his face and tears began to run down his face.
âNothing⊠nothing I do pleases her. Neither to her, nor to my grandfather. All the time they are pressuring me, demanding me, yelling at me. Apparently Otto still hopes that my father will name me king, but I've never wanted that. They blame me for drinking all the time and how do they expect them not to? My father cares so little about me and my mother hates me. All his life he has hated me. She does it, my brothers⊠and so do you. My own wife hates me. Everyone⊠everyone who knows me does itâ
You were silent for a moment.
There were mixed feelings inside you, because you couldn't forget the mistreatment that the man had given you during those months, nor the way he used you for his pleasure. He was right when he said you hated him. However, there was a compassionate part of you, deep down, that felt sorry for the man's state.
âAnd sometimes I just want to be dead. I just wish all the shit would go away and drowning in alcohol and dying would take away Alicent's problem and allow her to focus her attention on something betterâ
His gaze lifted and he looked at you with crystallized eyes.
âMaybe you should poison me one day. So your suffering would also endâ
âYour highness, I cannot do thatâ
âBut would you like it? Do you hate me enough to wish me dead?â
âOf course not,â you said quickly.
"Liar. You lie like everyone else. You want me deadâ
You knew that saying something negative at that moment, in the state he was in, could result in him making some incoherence that you would be blamed for the next morning. So it was best to act cautiously.
âI don't think anyone wants thatâ
âMy mother does. My father, Rhaenyra does it, and so does her stupid new husbandâŠâ
âYour graceâŠâ you interrupted him harshly. Listening to him sink into his self-indulgence was too much to bear âYou better go to sleep, don't you think? Now you're not thinking clearly, you'll feel better in the morning."
But Aegon seemed to be lost in his own thoughts, oblivious to anything you had to say to him.
âI guess I just wish someone wouldn't completely detest my existence, you know?â
Aegon had done terrible things to you, of course, but seeing him at that moment made you wonder if all of this was the product of poor parenting and psychological abuse that had been perpetuated for twenty long years. You couldn't say your father loved you, not after what he had done, but at least he hadn't constantly hurt you as the man in front of you had. You knew better than anyone that hate had to be healed with empathy and for a brief moment you felt soft for him.
Once Aegon was a small child, without sins, without accumulated hatred, without evil... and apparently that frightened child hadnât been completely buried, because it was him who cried inconsolably and saw death as a viable alternative to end that suffering. However, there is no redemption without guilt, right? You don't get to heaven without first repenting.
You stayed silent for a long time, listening to him sob, and when you gathered the courage you spoke:
âPrince, can I be honest with you?â
You had spoken in a low and benevolent voice, while you slid from your chair until you were kneeling in front of him. The boy didn't even want to take advantage of that position for a sexual act, he was simply too tired and drained to think. You placed your hands on his knees and seeing that he nodded, you continued:
âYou say you wish someone wouldn't hate you, but have you ever made an effort to do so? Or have you even wondered why people feel that way about you?â
âIt's something natural for themâ
âI didn't feel it,â you said, honestly. You hated the idea of getting married out of obligation, but if he had been different from the beginning maybe your feelings for him would be too âAnd you made me feel it. With your contempt, your humiliations, your punishmentsâŠâ
âIf everyone thinks you're a monster, what's the point of contradicting them?â
âAnd then you prefer to agree with them?â
You were probably taking too many liberties with the prince, but you would never have a chance to talk to him like that again. He was vulnerable and therefore less defensive than normal.
âEvery person is responsible for their actions,â you continued. âYou can't change how the queen or king feels about you, but you can choose to offer something better to others. If itâs your desire that people not hate you, that wonât happen overnight just because you tell it to. It takes time, effort and above all it requires kindness. If you live regretting the concept that people have of you, without doing anything to change it, then you will live a lifetime of dissatisfaction. If you seriously want someone to feel happy about your existence then pursue that goal, donât expect it to be granted to you as a divine work.â
A deeper cry began to well up from the man and you almost thought he would lean down for your hug. Still, he didn't.
âI don't know how to be someone else. I have always been thisâ
âNot always, that's for sure. Water that stagnates rots and becomes a swamp. The one that runs, on the other hand, becomes a river and flows into the ocean.â
You raised the handkerchief you always carried and, in an act of kindness that was also intended to be an offering of peace, you gently wiped the tears and dried blood from his face. Aegon squirmed as he had never experienced that kind of care.
âYou just have to ask yourself: what do you choose to be?â
For an endless moment he watched you. His judgment was clouded by drunkenness, but he wondered if he wasn't hallucinating and you were simply the voice of his conscience telling him something he had never wanted to accept.
It was easier to blame others for his mistakes, to justify himself by saying that everything about him was his mother's fault and that if he behaved the way he did it was only a defense mechanism. Aegon had never thought about how his treatment of women was a direct consequence of Alicent's upbringing: if his own mother had hurt him, why wouldn't other women do the same to him? And since he was convinced that they were all going to do it, he preferred to turn them into objects that he could use for his benefit.
He was so drunk and so exhausted from all the crying he had shed that he simply pushed your hand away from his face and stood up from the chair, without saying a word. You, now standing, saw him begin to undress and the first thing you thought was that he would seek to heal his sorrows by having sex with you. However, he only got rid of the essentials and then lay on his stomach on the bed. Without any choice, you took off your clothes for the day, put on a nightgown and also lay down on the mattress to sleep.
You were sure that the next day Aegon wouldnât remember anything and you weighed the possibility of the whole story repeating itself, in an endless and painful loop for the two of you. And if you were right, it would be a shame if you had to live like this for the rest of your days.
FOURTH ACT: REDEMPTION
âDo you know where Meryna is?â you asked one of the maids who had come in to change your bedding.
âNo, your graceâ
âI'm starting to get hungry and she still hasn't brought my breakfast,â you exclaimed sadly.
You had woken up a while ago and had gotten dressed to go for a walk after eating, to see if this would cheer you up a little. It had been a few days since Aegon had opened up in the privacy of your room and after that you had barely seen him, much less spoken to him. You believed that everything was due to a matter of pride or even shame for what you had witnessed and you simply didnât give it importance, because you knew that eventually he would approach you again. You just had to wait for him to want to do it.
Almost as if by summons, the black-haired girl appeared through the door, looking agitated and embarrassed by the delay. Furthermore, she came empty-handed.
"PrincessâŠ"
âDidn't you bring breakfast?â you asked, still sounding cordial but slightly surprised.
âI'm very sorry, it's just that Prince Aegon asked me to bring the food to the royal dining room. He is waiting for you there, he told me to come and get you.â
He hadnât mentioned requiring your presence for any breakfast and, according to you, there were no guests in the palace to accompany. The two women noticed your dismay and Meryna stood waiting for a response.
âDid he tell you why?â
âNo, your graceâ
"Good. Then tell him I'll be there in a moment."
You only took a few minutes to change your dress, one more suitable for being in the presence of the prince and in case there was a guest you didn't know about. There were no guards at your door so you were able to walk to the dining room by yourself and were surprised to see that only your husband was at the table. He had an expression that you interpreted as a mix of impatience and nerves.
âOh, you finally arrived. Sit down. You, bring the princess something to drink,â he ordered a maid. He used to call you that in the presence of guests, but it was rare for him to have that courtesy when alone.
âAre we waiting for someone?â
"No. I just thought you might want to have breakfast together.â
You were already sitting next to him, and for a second you watched him with a frown. Had he hit his head somewhere or why was he acting so strange?
âDo you prefer juice or wine, your highness?
"Juice"
âAnd bring her some strawberries,â Aegon exclaimed.
There was something about the situation that scared you, because you imagined that he wouldn't be treating you so kindly without wanting something in return. But you were already his wife and he did whatever he wanted with you, what more could he want from you?
You looked him up and down, as if searching for some sign, but he looked completely normal. He was wearing one of those full black robes he was used to, with a golden chain with emeralds decorating the hem of his neck and a belt accentuating his figure. The dark circles in his eyes were pronounced, as always, but the look was not that of someone angry; you would even say that he looked somewhat passive, even sleepy.
While you were thinking about all that, you remembered the last conversation you had had with him. You feared that madness had finally exploded in your husband and the food you were about to eat was poisoned, as he had suggested at the time. Perhaps out of courtesy he was waiting for you to take the first bite and, trying to control the trembling in your hands, you took a portion of the cold cuts on your plate to put it in your mouth. Luckily the food didn't taste different and after seeing that the man ate it with the utmost calmness, you assumed that it didn't contain any poison either.
There was freshly baked bread, jam, some cheeses, the aforementioned cold cuts, a variety of fruits, scrambled eggs with fresh herbs and chives, as well as some stuffed buns for dessert. It was a mini banquet and as you ate it you couldn't help but wonder why this show of kindness was due.
Aegon didn't seem to have any intention of talking and you didn't try to force him, not wanting to either. The atmosphere was one of peace and tranquility, one you had not experienced since your wedding day until now, and it was a very different but strangely pleasant feeling.
It was just a couple sharing breakfast time, but for two people who come from such a broken home it felt like a totally new experience.
You continued in silence until most of the things served were finished, leaving only what wasnât to your palate's liking or that your body was simply no longer able to ingest.
âDo you need anything else, your majesty?â
âClear this table, we won't eat anymore,â he said to the maid, nonchalantly pointing to the leftovers you had left. Then he looked at you âSatisfied?â
"I am. Everything was deliciousâ
âI want us to do the same tomorrow. I will send a maid for you, so get ready soon,â he said decisively.
Then he got up from his chair, stretched a little, and left the room without saying anything else to you.
You didn't see your husband the rest of the day, but the next morning he kept his promise without fail. Although the breakfast menu was different the routine was the same and again it made you wonder what the reason for it was.
The next day he also requested your presence for breakfast and you concluded that he intended to make it a habit. For the rest of the morning you were supposed to dedicate yourself to your activities, but after a week of following that routine Aegon informed you that he had other plans for you.
âI want you to come with me for a walk.â
"To the exterior?"
"Yeah. I have training with Ser Criston but I don't wish to attend, so you will be my excuse. I'll tell him that the princess wanted to go for a walk and that I couldn't let her go alone."
He was telling you that lie almost like a childish prank and you would swear he was about to smile.
âHuh, okay. If you want it, we willâ
You were still confused by his actions, because in all the time you had been there it was the first time he treated you decently. You didn't know if he was still drinking in large quantities, but at least when he went to sleep he no longer reeked of liquor in the same way. And all that week he hadn't forced you to have sex with him.
What had motivated the prince to change his way of behaving towards you?
"Do you want to go to the beach? I will order a couple of horses to be saddled for usâ he exclaimed when you had already left the dining room.
You couldn't refuse to go to the bay, because in your entire life you had never seen the ocean and your curiosity was greater than any other feeling. Besides, you loved horses, and being with them might even make you feel better.
Aegon did as he told you and soon enough you were in the stable. He had ordered a beautiful white mare for you, with a silver mane the color of your husband's hair and a formidable build.
You approached to pet the animal, carefully, and tensed completely when you felt another body behind yours. Until that moment you hadn't realized how warm your husband was.
âShe's pretty, right?â
His voice sounded at your ear level, as he had also reached out to touch Frostfireâs hair.
"She is"
âI guess you know how to ride,â he muttered under his breath and you let out an offended sigh.
âOf course I do. Highgarden is the heart of the chivalry of the seven kingdomsâ
After saying that you turned your head just a little and met his gaze, indigo eyes with hints of lilac looking at you carefully. You could feel his breath against yours and at that closeness your cheeks had already turned red involuntarily.
He separated from you and then went to choose his horse, a black thoroughbred with beautiful braids, to get on it and ask the guards to open the door for you. You almost managed to sneak away, but Ser Criston stopped the two of you just before you could do so, claiming that he had a scheduled practice with the prince.
âI'm taking my wife to Blackwater, she hasn't had a chance to visit since her arrival.â
âBut your grace, your fatherâŠâ
âWe will continue with training later, Ser Criston,â he said firmly.
âWill you go to Blackwater without an escort?â
âI willâ
"That's impossible"
âDon't worry, I don't want to be accompanied. Just rest for now.â
âBut you are the prince.â
"Exactly. I am the prince and I want my orders to be respected."
The boy was a smug son of a bitch when he put his mind to it, just like now. The man had no choice but to obey the words and then the two of you were able to leave. You could get there on foot, but Aegon had felt like riding and had wanted an alternative to quickly escape if something went wrong.
You walked along a path that still belonged to the Red Keep grounds, so there was no great danger of being attacked along the way, and you soon reached the bay. It was even more beautiful up close and as soon as you got off the mare you forgot any courtesy towards your husband, as you rushed towards the shore to watch the waves crash. Your pumps and dress were soaked when the water reached your calves, but it didn't bother you too much because you were happy for the reason.
âHave you never been to the ocean?â
âI'm afraid not, your grace. There was never any business that required me to be on the coast of The Reach and I have always lived surrounded by hills and forests. I had seen some rivers, butâŠâ
Before you could continue your story you staggered because of a wave and to avoid falling you tried to hold on to whatever was within reach, which turned out to be the man next to you. He supported you from the elbows with his strong arms.
âOh, I'm so sorry.â
âItâs okay,â he laughed. For the first time in your presence, he had laughed âBut we should get away from the shore. I wouldn't want to take you back to the castle all soakedâ
You heeded the boy's advice and, still leaning on him, walked towards the sand. The sky was slightly cloudy, so the weather was perfect for walking around without any discomfort.
âI've never visited Highgarden, is it as impressive as rumored?â he asked, as he began to walk in the opposite direction of the Red Keep.
Although you never believed that the prince would be interested in such things, you began to talk to him about your hometown with particular emotion. You told him about his surroundings, about the castle and you also told in greater detail the gardens that once belonged to you and were full of golden roses, as was the emblem of your house.
You were surprised by how attentive the boy was to everything you had to say to him and for the first time since your arrival, you didn't feel like a stranger in your own skin. Talking about your home was like remembering a part of yourself, as if you were showing him your insides through stories of the beautiful hills where you had ridden so many times.
âEverything sounds wonderful,â he concluded. The sea breeze had already ruffled both of your hair and he took advantage of this to brush a strand out of your face âSomeday I should go visit itâ
âYes, maybe you would like thatâ you exclaimed smiling. You had come too far and it was time to walk back, towards where you had left Frostfire and Moonshadow tied up âYour grace, may I ask you a question?â
"Yeah"
You opened your mouth to ask him why he was doing all that and why he had suddenly started showing so much interest in you. You wanted to know the reason for his unexpected kindness and his abstinence from activities that werenât very pleasant for you. But before you could speak, you took a moment to observe him. His skin looked paler in the light outside and his silver hair waved in the wind, however, what caught your attention the most was the serene expression on his face.
Although you couldn't say that you knew Aegon, the time you had lived together had shown you that his personality was extremely challenging. If you pointed out that he was being nicer to you and questioned him about it, he would most likely revert to his old behavior towards you simply on a whim. So no, you couldn't ask him about anything or you'd ruin the minuscule part of a good relationship you had managed to build.
âI was thinking... Do you think we can one day bring golden roses to the royal gardens? Green and gold are part of your emblem too and that would beautify the place. I could take care of them, if you want.â
âThat's a good idea,â he exclaimed happily. You had already turned around to return and you calculated that it must be after noon âI will order them to be brought in as soon as possible, in the hope that the hot weather at King's landing will not ruin themâ
âI hope not,â you said, although a little less enthusiastic than before.
You had been lost in thought after the appearance of that question that you did not verbalize and suddenly Aegon feared that he had made some mistake. You walked a few meters in silence, until this state was unbearable for his majesty and he stopped you by holding your shoulders. You were about to ask what had happened when he pulled you against his lips, stealing your breath. It was still a rough kiss, but this time less desperate than before. His hands went down to your waist and held you to his body until there wasnât even a centimeter of distance left, with your belly touching the heat of his stomach.
âStill no signs that you are pregnant?â
You thought that, perhaps, your answer was in that question and that the only thing the man wanted was to convince you to hurry up the matter of producing an heir.
âI'm sorry to say no. It's very unfortunate."
âWe'll have to keep trying,â he said, shrugging his shoulders as if he wanted to downplay the matter âMother insists on it.â
âHas your mother always been like this to you?â
"What are you talking about?"
âIt's just⊠she seems to have everything under control all the time.â
You couldn't be further from the truth and rather than describing it that way Aegon would have said that she was controlling. She wanted to have things under control, but she couldn't and as an example was the eldest prince himself, whom she had never been able to persuade to behave the way he did.
âWell, she is the queen. I guess that's how she must beâ he exclaimed without much encouragement. He was still holding you by the waist and was surprised by how intimate that position was. âBut we better get back, they must be wondering where we areâ
âMaybe they even think I ran away, taking advantage of the fact that you weren't there to watch me,â you joked.
"Would you do it?"
"Do what?"
âRun awayâ
You looked at the man, incredulous, because it was stupid to think that if you were planning to run away you would just tell him like that. That was the characteristic of it, that it was surprising and hidden.
âWhy would I do, your grace?â
âMaybe because I'm a bad husband,â he said quietly. You weren't understanding the game Aegon was playing and it was driving you crazy.
âI wouldn't dare do it. I have nowhere to go and I know I couldn't even get through the doors without your majesty noticing,â you replied.
The prince didnât want pragmatic reasons like that, but rather his question was more aimed at whether it was your will to abandon him.
Against all odds a couple of raindrops began to fall and very soon a storm had already brewed over your head. It was useless to run, but you did it anyway and Aegon held your hand to prevent either of you from falling due to a trip. Somewhere along the way you lost one of your pumps and at this you began to laugh and he, infected by your joy, did the same. It amused you greatly to think of the face the queen would make when she saw you enter the castle, with her eldest son soaked from head to toe and your clothing incomplete. But you also laughed from the joy of feeling so alive in that moment. You felt like a girl playing in the rain and despite the coldness of the falling water, you felt a certain warmth traveling from the tips of your fingers to your chest.
Although he was sure that you were an excellent rider, your husband insisted on taking you on his own horse to avoid any accidents and you agreed without complaint. His body sheltered you all the way to the Red Keep and once there, under the roof, he helped you down from the chair with extreme care. You didn't think he was that strong until you felt him grab your waist and place you on the floor effortlessly.
âAsk the maids to prepare a bath for you, or you will catch a cold,â he said, putting on your back a cloak he had found hanging on one of the walls.
There was the hint of a smile on his face and seeing him behave like this towards you made you feel weird. You almost felt like he was trying to be affectionate with you, even though he wasn't quite succeeding.
âYou should do the same,â you exclaimed softly.
Motivated by the kind moment you had shared, you reached out to brush away the wet hair that had stuck to his face and he shivered at your touch. It was the first time you touched him that way, out of conviction and with care.
âYour majesty, Lord Hand is looking for you. He says he needs to talk to you urgently."
âMy grandfather,â he sighed at you, as if wanting to apologize for the words the guard behind you had just said.
He gave the man Moonshadow's reins and then explained that someone had to go get the horse you had left in the bay, so you assumed your presence there was no longer necessary. You were about to leave when he stopped you, grabbing your arm somewhat roughly and looking at you with a feeling that you couldn't decipher.
âI'll go to your room tonight,â he informed.
You felt a little disappointed by the reality of having to share a bed with him, after so long without having done so, but you were grateful that he was at least warning you.
You nodded your goodbyes and he did the same, forming an unspoken agreement. You thought maybe that was why he had been polite to you, so he could get back under your bed sheets. But there was no point in doing it, he wasn't courting you to win your hand, but you were already his wife and he had made it very clear that he could do with you whatever he wanted.
Still a little confused, you were escorted to your bedroom, where you hoped that a tub with hot water and essences would be enough to appease all those doubts that were growing in you.
FIFTH ACT: LOVE
At some point Aegon would get tired of all this, you were sure. But while that moment arrived, you were thoroughly enjoying all kinds of attention you received from your husband. He kept his promise to bring golden roses for the gardens and although the queen wasnât very happy, in the end they adorned some of the busiest sections of the place. You took that as an act of good faith, so you thought that maybe the thought of repaying him for some of the decency he was showing you wouldn't kill you.
There wasnât a single breakfast that you skipped, except when the prince was required for political matters or had to travel. You were too proud to admit that you had begun to genuinely enjoy his company, as you still had some distrust due to how temperamental the man was. It wasn't all sunshine and flowers, as the young man still had some outbursts that made you fear him and reminded you that this was who you were really talking to.
His drinking habits hadnât changed much, since although he was able to handle it during the first week after that period, it was inevitable that he would go back to his old ways and drink an entire jug of wine in a couple of minutes. With sex it was the same, because he continued to fuck you without signs of care and regularly when he was lost in drink. It amused you to think that perhaps that was the reason why you still didn't carry a child in your womb; that he was too drunk when you tried to be of any use.
However, as your relationship strengthened you could notice slight (you almost swore they were imaginary) changes when having sex. He was no longer as rough towards your body as before and tried to thrust into you a little slower, as if he wanted to lengthen the moment and not just unload into you and sleep like a baby after that. Maybe it was just that the drink made him lethargic, but he had even started seeking your lips in the middle of the act or kissing everything within reach of the skin on your neck. You didn't intend to spend much time analyzing his behavior because for you it already represented a victory that he had stopped hurting you after every time you had sex and, honestly, you didn't want to inquire about it. Once again you thought it was more prudent not to question the prince and simply let him continue behaving that way.
Until one night, things looked different for you.
When you heard your husband open the door, quite late at night, and saw him approach your bed, you knew that the same dynamic of nighttime visits would take place. Aegon, already hard as a rock, would kiss you a few times, undress, order you to undress, and then position on top of you to satisfy himself. Needless to say, under the confidence that being in the dark gave you and your husband's lack of interest, you looked away or concentrated on something else while your martyrdom was carried out. He would finish, lie naked next to you, and then sleep soundly with no memory the next morning of what had happened.
Aegon called your name, just to check that you were awake or otherwise wake you up, and you were surprised to hear that his voice sounded quite normal. He wasn't slurring his words like usual.
"Your grace?" you called back, propping yourself up on your elbows so you could look at him.
He did what was expected and as soon as he was far enough away, he started kissing you. You must have known something was wrong from that first moment, when he grabbed your cheek with his wide hand and offered you the most passionate kiss you had ever had. It is reiterated that Aegon was always somewhat careless in intimacy, but this first contact hadnât felt as impatient as others, but rather was something more careful and planned.
Only one other man had kissed you like that in your life and although the feeling brewing in your chest must have been pleasant, the truth was that it wasn't. You had endured too much abuse from the white-haired man so your body didn't know how to react otherwise. That's why when he continued kissing you for longer than usual and then laid you down meekly, you couldn't do anything but tense uncomfortably.
You were only in your nightgown so there wasn't much difficulty in sliding the straps to the side, almost exposing your tits. Suddenly Aegon lowered his kisses to your neck, where his stubble scratched your skin. Knowing that he would be busy in that area, you turned your head away to focus your gaze on a tapestry on the wall. However, you got a surprise when you felt the prince move away from you and then a bigger one when he took your face between his fingers, placing his index finger and thumb on each of your cheeks to force you to look at him. At first you thought there was anger in his eyes, but after looking at them for a second more you concluded that the feeling was more like that of someone insulted. And why? you asked yourself. What had you done that had offended the prince?
âWhy are you looking away?â
His question had a certain aggressive tone, but, at the same time, he sounded hurt. With that you confirmed that he wasnât drunk or that, if he was, he had drunk just enough to make him feel slightly dizzy. You couldn't tell the way your eyes looked at him, but Aegon interpreted your expression as one of disdain.
Unbeknownst to you, he had his own whirlwind of feelings inside him, one that was driving him crazy and causing him to look you up and down while still holding you. Heâd never been like this on another night, so you were at the mercy of knowing how good or bad that would turn out.
Suddenly he seemed upset, you would even say disgusted, and surprisingly stood up from his position. The cold air hit you where he had been before and you sat on the bed to watch him, completely confused by the way he was behaving.
"What's going on"
âYou don't want this,â he spoke firmly. It was obvious that you didn't want to and you wondered how he had barely realized it. âNot like that⊠I⊠no. Not this way"
His babbling confused you even more and when you saw him walk away with exaggerated steps until he left through the door, you couldn't help but feel totally amazed.
What was the reason for what your husband had just done?
The feeling of being abandoned was more hopeless than having him fuck you would have been, and for a moment you even felt ashamed. Maybe he didn't like you anymore or he would just go and cure his frustration in the bed of a woman you didn't know.
He had watched you very strangely and the whole scene wasn't like him. You even pinched yourself just to check that it wasn't some strange dream, getting a moan of pain in response to your question. You thought that perhaps you were acting impulsively, but barely a minute later you put on a green robe over your nightgown and headed towards the door, still not knowing exactly what you were going to do.
âWhere are you going, your grace?â the guard on duty asked, putting his voluptuous body in your way.
âPrince Aegon, do you know where he went?â
âIn that direction, your majesty. But I'm afraid I must recommend that you return to your room, it is dangerous to walk around the palace at this time."
âBut I wish to see my husband,â you said firmly.
The man let out a sigh and then slid to the side of the hallway, leaving you a clear path. Even so, when you started walking you felt his footsteps following you because he probably wanted to make sure that something didn't happen to you. You walked for a while, but you knew it was useless when all you found were locked doors that you couldn't knock on and that you couldn't open either. If Aegon was in any of those rooms, you wouldn't know it. Defeated, you returned to your room and, as expected, found it empty again.
The next morning there wasnât a single word about that event, but it was present in your mind throughout the day. You had already lived with him enough to realize that something was bothering him, however, upon noticing that he was less talkative during your usual breakfast, you decided to give him time.
You were about to leave the table when he stopped you, asking you to take your seat again and looking at you seriously.
âI have to travel for a couple of weeks,â he informed you. You were surprised to hear that he almost sounded sad âThe king is required on some business and since my father can no longer travel, I will have to do it.â
âI hope the entire journey is favorable and the visit profitable, your grace,â you exclaimed cordially. However, your husband didnât seem pleased with it.
One of his hands slid to hold yours, with a strength that surprised you. There was urgency in his grip, like he needed to hold on to something.
âIs that all you have to say?â
A couple of wrinkles appeared on your brow, as you clearly weren't understanding what he expected of you. Accompanying him would be reckless and you didn't know if he wanted you to keep him there at King's landing.
During those last months something had changed in the man's face, because those eyes surrounded by purple marks no longer saw you with the same aversion as the first time. And it disheartened Aegon that his attempts to please you were yielding no apparent fruit. He was giving you time, effort, and being kind to you like you had said was necessary, but he still couldn't help but feel that you still considered him a stranger.
He had been patient because he thought that, as time went by, you would begin to seek him out or not shy away from his touch. Aegon cared a lot about the physical, so every time he sneaked into your room he did so with the hope that you would welcome him with open arms and give yourself to him willingly. Countless nights he waited in his own room for you to show up to keep him warm and love him throughout the night. But it never happened and a part of him couldn't blame you either.
However, he was already tired of it. He wanted to make it clear to you that he not only wanted to give, but also receive. But forcing you to do anything would ruin everything; you had to want it.
âHave I said something that offended you, prince?â
âI just thought you would say you were going to miss meâ
A laugh echoed in your throat at those words and for a second Aegon felt hurt, like you were mocking you. He was going to let go of your hand and walk away, insulted, but you squeezed his hand harder as a sign that you didn't want him to do that.
âI'm sorry, I didn't mean to laugh at you. I just didn't think that if I harbored feelings of that kind they would be of interest to your majesty."
âDo you miss me when you don't see me?â he asked now, allowing himself to be vulnerable in front of you âOr are you glad to have me away?â
You didn't know what those direct questions were about, because you didn't expect that a man like him would be plagued by uncertainty about knowing the answers.
âNot at all. I will always be willing to be with you whenever you want.â
âAnd you want to be with me?â he insisted.
âI think that what I want is not importantâ
âBut I'm trying to make it so. I thought I was making it clear enough,â
He was angry, but not for the reasons you might think. It frustrated him that he was trying hard to improve and that your eyes continued to see him like that first time. Too many people were already observing him like that and he thought that, perhaps, since you were the most recent to do it, you could also be the first in whom he could manage to modify it.
You, however, were still too confused by his signs. Sometimes his attitude didnât coincide with the intentions he had, since antipathy was often the only emotion with which he allowed himself to express and feel, accustomed to what he received during all his years of life.
All those months of effort were a direct product of the talk you had had with him, of that moment of weakness in which, instead of ignoring him like everyone else did, you had stayed with him. Aegon was aware that the treatment towards you was sometimes inhumane and he couldnât explain how despite this you had wiped away his tears with such care, expressing nothing more than an act of integrity. Sometimes he even just imposed things on you to see if he could push you to the limit and he was surprised to see that you endured everything with honor and decency. You were good, something he could never be.
He didn't want to hear anything more and then let go of your hand, feeling rejected again.
"MajestyâŠ"
"It's getting late. I have to go feed Sunfyre so he can endure the trip.â
âWill you travel by dragon?â
âHow else would a Targaryen do it?â expressed obviously.
You were silent for a moment and then he stood up, ready to fulfill his obligations. In the afternoon he had already left, without emotional goodbyes or anything like that.
You had those weeks alone to reflect on everything that had been happening. You firmly believed that a cruel and evil person would always be that way, even if they hid it, because humans canât change from one day to the next. Still, you had to allow Aegon the courtesy of admitting that he wasn't being a complete jerk lately.
You tried to think of any unpleasant moments with him during that week and although you found a couple, you realized that they had all been because of minor arguments or simply that one of the two of you had woken up in a bad mood. The hatred for the boy had been so ingrained in you that now it was difficult to decipher how much of it was due to things that were really happening and how much of it was a resentment carried from the past, at the beginning of that harmful relationship that existed between you.
He was no longer a mean man to you, he just sometimes had those logical slips for anyone who has never been taught to love. He didn't know how to care for you, how to talk to you, or even how to touch you properly. He had always existed alone and could still be seen reflected in his incessant desire for you to be the one to look for him, in his longing to know that you would miss him during his absence and in wanting you to look forward to his return. He wanted you to pay attention to him. He needed it.
One fine afternoon the vision of Sunfyre finally appeared in the bright blue of the sky, with you watching from the huge window of your room. He looked majestic, flying deftly and confidently with the rider above him grinning from ear to ear. Aegon had once confessed to you that he loved to fly on his dragon and he spoke about it with a devotion that completely touched you.
You thought about going to look for him, grateful that he had returned, but you were afraid that your presence would bother him or, in that case, that there would be murmurs about you. You didn't want to seem like a desperate wife so you thought it would be best to look for him at dinner time and in case he wanted to see you before, you stayed in your room all afternoon.
Once night fell, you put on one of your prettiest dresses and went to the royal dining room hoping to find him there, but it was in vain. Luckily one of the cooks had seen him and he told you that he was in his room, since he had ordered that something to eat and drink be brought there.
Determined, you made your way there and took a moment before entering. You hoped that the time away from King's landing had not hardened your lover's character, because it would be a shame to waste what you had built for some time and have to start over, or not do it at all, which would be even worse. Since there were no guards at the door, you were able to push the wood without any hindrance and then you saw it.
Aegon was sitting near the fireplace, his back to the entrance and leaning against a table that had a jug that you assumed was full (or not so full anymore) of wine. When he heard your footsteps he turned slightly and when he saw you, he kept a serene expression on his face.
âHey,â he exclaimed quietly.
âThe maids informed me that you were hereâ you explained and he nodded.
You noticed that he no longer wore his black doublet with the Targaryen emblem, he only kept the breeches of the same color and a mint-colored linen shirt that left part of his chest exposed. His white hair had some natural curls that fell delicately over her shoulders.
âYeah. I don't feel like seeing my parents.â
âI understandâ you assumed that if he hadn't wanted to see you he wouldn't have hesitated to tell you, so you approached him. Undecided whether you should greet him with a kiss or just stay to the side, you placed your hands on his shoulders and leaned a little to look at him âHow was the trip?â
âIt was good,â he responded with reluctance. âBut my body feels completely crushedâ
âHm. It showsâ you whispered, amused. The tension in his body was palpable and that's why you began to massage him, pressing hard just where he needed it. Aegon, feeling your skilled hands doing this, let out a satisfied grunt and leaned his head back with his eyes closed.
Doing that wasnât something you had planned when you went there, it had only happened out of the heat of the moment and the reality that your husband's body was taking its toll on him for the hours he had spent riding his dragon.
With each passing second Aegon's burden felt lighter and lighter, wondering where you had learned those movements and how your hands were strong enough to exert the right pressure.
"Feel better?" you asked kindly and he nodded immediately, eyes still closed.
Suddenly one of your hands slid lower, towards his chest, to caress him. This time your fingers were light as feathers, sending an electrical current up and down the man's spine under your touch. No whore had ever touched him like that, with that force and at the same time so delicately.
But it was clear that you were not a whore. You were his wife.
âCome here,â he said firmly, reaching out to wrap his hand around your wrist and pulling you directly into his lap.
It was extremely painful to admit that he had missed you. He was physically frustrated because he hadn't dared to take any other woman in your absence. It had been a long time since he had frequented pleasure houses, since his appetite was awakened only by being with you.
What the hell had you done to him?
âThe cook told me that you ordered some food, but I only see wine around here. Have you already eaten anything?â
âMhmm,â he said absently. Your legs dangled to the side and one of his hands came up to your face, brushing your loose hair away from it. The other one surrounded you until it planted itself firmly on your belly. âStill no signs of anything?â
âHonestly, I don't know. The maesters canât say with certainty⊠I am sorryâ
âWhat if you are sterile?â the mere possibility of it made you nervous and you wondered what your fate would be if that was the case. Aegon didn't look so worried âWhat a disappointment for Alicent.â
You didn't know how to take that, because on the one hand it could be that your husband was amused by the irony of the matter and on the other hand it was that he would never have wanted to have children with you. For a moment you thought that the tranquility of the environment had been fragmented by this, but it turned out that the man couldn't care less. He was completely focused on your lips, almost as if hypnotized.
âI trust that is not the case, your grace. Just⊠it was a streak of bad luck.â
âI guess so,â he murmured nonchalantly. He was still watching your mouth when you spoke âBut now I donât care much about that.â
He carefully grabbed you by the back of your neck and brought you closer to shorten the distance, giving you an eager kiss that took your breath away. The hand that was on your waist pulled you closer to his body, leaving practically no separation between you and him. You could feel the desperation on his lips and in his touch, like he was eager to make you his. And at the same time, he was kissing you like he had never done before: it was sweet, yearning, passionate. You felt like he really wanted you.
He separated from you so you could breathe and, as best he could, he maneuvered to lift your body until he placed you on the table, where it was easier for him to place himself in the space between your legs. You instinctively placed your hands around his neck and wrapped one of your legs around his body.
âI longed for you. These weeksâ you finally confessed. You heard him, and felt him, breathe more erratically at this because your words had fallen on him with the force of an axe.
From there, Aegon acted solely driven by the feeling of knowing that you had wanted to see him as much as he had wanted to see you.
His entire body leaned over you to kiss you, with the same urgency as at the beginning. While he did that he grabbed you by the lower back, pulling you until your body collided with his crotch which, if it wasn't already hard, wouldn't take long.
His kisses were clumsy due to urgency and after a while he moved away from your mouth to descend to your neck. Sometimes he left a kiss or two, at most, but this time he seemed to want to take his time. His tongue ran all over your skin, freshly washed, and he spread caresses without restraint. Every place the dragon's lips touched lit up with fire and his hips grinding against you weren't doing much for the blush on your cheeks. Inevitably you began to sigh from so many stimuli, right at the level of his ear, which only motivated him to continue.
As best he could he pulled the laces on the back of your dress and it didn't take long to get rid of the restraints. He slid one of your sleeves over your shoulder to begin kissing that section, the same way he had done with your neck. An indiscreet moan escaped you as your husband bit into your soft flesh and you could feel him smile against your skin.
âYou're mine, right?â he sighed brokenly. You had tilted your head back to give him more space and he took the opportunity to lower the entire torso of your dress. âOnly mineâŠâ
With the same devotion he took care of your breasts and you couldn't do anything but continue alternating between sighs and some muffled moans. You could feel how he longed for you, eager to be able to kiss every inch of your skin even if it took him the entire night. Suddenly your body had become a temple, an object worthy of worship. The prince continued to distribute kisses that each time descended towards your belly, until with one hand he violently threw everything that was on the table and you ended up lying completely on it. Then he walked away.
You were about to ask what had happened when he took care of taking off your ballerina flats and throwing them somewhere far away in the room, only to stretch your leg up to the height of his torso to start kissing it. No one, not even him, had ever done that to you, so it was natural for you to be dismayed. His kisses moved quickly up your thigh and once he did that, he dropped to his knees in front of you. The skirt of your dress blocked your view and when you tried to get up something made you scream. Aegon had bitten into the tender flesh of your thighs, quite close to your crotch and with more force than he had hit your shoulder. You could only imagine his face when he carefully licked the mark he had surely left on you, once again making your chest exhale a moan.
What he did next and the sensation it caused, you could never have even imagined. That mouth, which most of the time was used for ironic puns and sloppy kisses, was now taking expert care of all of your pussy. Aegon was devouring you completely, touching just where it was necessary to make you squirm on the table. He wasn't careful at all; it was a touch hungry and extremely dirty.
You wanted to hold on as much as you could to keep yourself attached to reality, but it was difficult with your husband eating you like that. One of his arms wrapped around your leg and placed it over his shoulder, probably to give him better access. You had never moaned like that in his presence and it only made him harder and harder beneath the tight fabric of his breeches.
The pleasure was barely getting to your head when he stopped and a dissatisfied grunt escaped you shamelessly. Aegon laughed unabashedly at this, pleased at the control he had gained over you, and then went up again to kiss you hungrily. You couldn't do anything but welcome his salty lips and you moaned against him as he leaned against your body and you could feel his crotch, not knowing if it was your own wetness or his that was present.
He held you from behind and, without stopping kissing you, carried you until he placed you on the bed. You considered it somewhat unfair that your husband already had you trembling beneath him and still hadn't taken off a single piece of clothing, but your complaints were silenced when he hurriedly pulled his shirt over his head and took off his breeches in record time. In the same way, he pulled your dress towards your legs so that a second later it ended up on the floor, along with everything else.
He knelt down on the mattress and spread your legs roughly, lining himself up with your entrance. He began to rub the tip of his member up and down your already wet center and that did nothing but drive you crazy again.
When a delicate, pleading, «please» escaped your swollen lips, Aegon knew it was more stimulating to have you begging for him than to worry about only satisfying himself.
He played with you for a while longer, smiling from ear to ear at the sight of his delicate, pretty wife vibrating from having him close, until he finally plunged into you. For the first time there was enough wetness in you that the stroke felt satisfying rather than painful and both of you let out a delicious moan.
He set the pace, slow at first, but after a while his movements became more desperate. He wanted to get to the core of you, he wanted to fill you completely so you knew that only he could make you feel that way. When his body began to ache he leaned towards you, resting each of his arms on the side of your head and looking directly at you. You had stopped looking away from him, now you were looking at him with your mouth open with pleasure, your eyes watery and your pupils dilated on your completely flushed cheeks.
âAegon,â you sobbed pathetically, clouded by everything you were experiencing and proving that it wasn't long before you reached your orgasm.
You had never called him by his name. You always referred to him as «your grace», «prince» or «husband», at best. So hearing his name come out of your lips like that, under those circumstances, was too much for him to bear.
Knowing that he couldn't last much longer, one of his hands moved down to rest his thumb on your clit and once there he began to make erratic circles. You closed your eyes, completely seized by pleasure and a couple more thrusts were enough to make you lose the battle. Hearing your whimpers, combined with the way your walls squeezed him, was enough to make him cum too. With trembling legs you felt the warm liquid filling you and, for the first time, it was comforting.
When Aegon plopped down next to you, you immediately missed his body warmth. Both of you were breathing heavily, trying to catch the breath that the orgasm had taken from you. You could clearly feel your heartbeat bouncing off your bare chest and the stinging sensation coming from your crotch and running through your entire body was something you could get used to. Your hair had stuck to your face from the sweat and not to mention your lips, which you felt were burning from your husband's attention.
Aegon had already had many orgasms in his life so this time he decided to turn his gaze a little to see you enjoying yours. The mere idea that he was responsible for your condition made him completely shake.
âYou look beautiful,â he blurted out suddenly. You thought he had heard wrong because of the rush, but from the way he was smiling at you, you highly doubted it. âJust like thatâ
âLike what?â
âFreshly fucked. Well fuckedâ he corrected himself.
A laugh bubbled up from within you and you blushed even more, if that was possible, perhaps from the nerves and elation of what had just happened. The man stood up a little from his seat and leaned down to kiss you, although this time he did it with a calm and affection that you never thought you would see in him. It was just that he couldn't deny it anymore; from that moment on he would become an open book for you, where you could see all his feelings, desires and fears.
âI don't know why you're doing this,â you suddenly murmured and Aegon pulled away enough to look at you âAnd I don't know why you've been acting like this these past few months. But I like it. I think it's a good time for you to know."
âYou said I could choose who I am,â he said meekly. One of his hands grabbed your chin and stole another fleeting kiss from you. âI haven't forgotten, every word is present in my head. It's just... sometimes it's hard. And I thought I would have a better chance with you, even with the things I did to you when we got marriedâ
You smiled at him and were happy to know that the change in his behavior was because of the talk you once had with him. If he continued like this, ignoring the demons inside him and trying to be better, then your marriage had a chance to become more than just a condemnation.
Driven by the pleasant feeling growing in your chest you reached out towards him to reward him with a kiss. The man's breath hitched when you pushed him to the side and reversed roles, now you being the one pampering him while he was lying down. There was a playful glint in your husband's eyes as you looked at him.
âDo you know this is the first time you kissed me?â he exhaled softly.
You couldn't believe that was possible and for a few seconds you tried to remember so you could contradict him. But every time you remembered you realized that it was always him who initiated the contact to which you only responded, so, effectively, it was the first kiss you gave him out of conviction.
Maybe it was an omen that something good was coming.
Still happy with how everything had turned out, you snuggled into his side, your head resting on his chest while he hugged you and threw a sheet over your bodies. You planted a hand on his bare skin and began drumming your fingers, alternating with small circles made with the greatest delicacy.
You were silent for a long time, you even thought that your husband had fallen asleep until you heard him speak again:
âIt's also the first time I'm doing this.â
âAre you talking about sex, your grace?â
âNo, I'm talking about cuddling,â he confessed softly, his hand caressing your back the same way you did with him, âAnd don't call me your majesty anymore. I am Aegon. Or my prince, at any rate. But my is importantâ
With the affection worthy of a wife, you raised your head to place a kiss on his cheek and assured him that from now on you would call him that in the privacy of your chambers.
Suddenly, after another moment of silence, Aegon pulled you close to him as if afraid you were going to suddenly evaporate. Intending to calm his fears, you climbed until you were on top of his body, hiding your head in his neck so that the distance became minimal.
There was silence for another couple of minutes.
âDo you think I can ever be forgiven?â
Apparently the atmosphere of the moment had managed to soften the boy's heart.
âWe can all be absolved, Aegon.â
"And you?"
"Me what?"
âDo you think you can ever love me?â you were quiet for a second, thinking about your response. Then, he added âOr could you at least try? It would be a nice detail for me. No one has ever done it before.â
Not wanting to ruin the mood with a false word you decided to kiss his neck gently and that was enough of an answer for him. He would have to trust in your goodwill and that he could continue to restrain his impulses to keep this newly discovered gem that was his wife. With some luck you could even be that person he prayed for so much all his life, one with whom he could feel safe.
The slowing of the man's breathing revealed to you that he had already fallen asleep and you discovered that it seemed not so bad to find yourself in that position, sheltered by your lover's arms.
Under that scenario, the idea of eventually loving Prince Aegon Targaryen no longer sounded so far-fetched.

àŒâ§âË. â simon 'GHOST' riley; newlyweds.
warnings .: x reader, smut, mdni 18+, afab! reader, v! penetration, heavily unedited
.: masterlist.
simon was not thrilled when you told him you didnât want to sleep with him before the wedding, something about it being âbad luckâ. at first he didnât understand but he was willing to oblige, sleeping in the guest room didnât sound too bad; although he didnât like the idea of sleeping in a cold bed while you were just a room away â but fighting with you was never a battle he won.Â
except, when you clarified that you didnât want to âfuckâ before your wedding, he was not having it. he couldnât stop the baffled laugh that slipped from his lips. it didnât make sense, you werenât a virgin; he had the pleasure of stuffing you full of his cock many times while dating. to say he was confused was an understatement.Â
but, what the bride wants, the bride gets. so weeks go by where simon has to take care of his growing problem by himself; just to tease you, and hopefully make you regret your decision, heâll get off in bed, right before you go to sleep.Â
simon will have you watch the way he tugs at his cock with need, his head tilted back with grunts and an uneven breath. his chest heaving as thick ropes of his cum spurt onto his exposed abdomen. heâll give you a sly smirk before climbing out of bed, his boxers tugged up but hanging too low revealing his v-line.Â
it takes everything in you to stick to your word, watch every night as simon adds the lewd task into his daily routine. eventually, heâs the one that breaks, the way he stumbles into your shared bedroom and finds you with a hand between your thighs â his name spewing from your lips when you catch sight of him.
he wishes he could say âi told you soâ when youâre begging for him, needing to relieve the ache thatâs been dwelling in your tummy for so long. he takes one look at your sopping cunt and wonders how long youâve been trying to stuff your fingers inside of you knowing that they couldnât reach that gummy spot only he could.Â
simon shakes his head with a chuckle, taking his time to settle himself between your legs. he kisses your knees, hiking them over his shoulder and winding his arms around your thighs to keep you still. with his thumbs, heâs spreading your folds â a teasing tut and tilt of the head are all you need from him to know that heâll never let you hear the end of it.Â
he has to swallow a groan, hard eyes glued to your leaking hole. your juices dribbling from your cunt and dripping onto the bedsheets. âyou sure you wanna keep up with your stupid idea? i can make you feel good, take care of you the way you need.â simon asks, almost begging for you to quit being stubborn this once and let him relieve you â to let him fuck you stupid so he can spill his cum deep inside of you instead of wasting it and wiping it off of his chest with a towel.Â
he just wants to feel your tight cunt wrapped around him, hear your moans as his fat tip nudges against that one spot that makes your walls flutter around his cock. simonâs rutting his hips into the mattress, too lost in his lewd thoughts to hear you reject his suggestion. when he does heâs dropping his head with a low growl.Â
he never thought he would hate your friends, but he could kill the person who told you about this stupid suspicion. simon is a good boyfriend, heâll show you how good of a husband he will be too. reluctantly accommodating to your wishes, he stuffs his fingers inside of you instead of his throbbing cock.
oddly enough, he finds himself loving this more. the way your slick coats his hand â his engagement ring. simon is moaning at the sight, his simple soon-to-be wedding band glistening in the dim light as he finger fucks your tight hole.Â
âaw, honey. sâtoo much?â he coos, curling his fingers inside of you and pressing his thumb to your clit. he nips at the inside of your thigh and grins at the way your legs tremble, your back arched off the mattress. with his free hand he wraps it around your wrist, squeezing it lightly so youâd loosen your tight grip on the bedsheets below. intertwining your fingers with his, he works you up to another orgasm, talking you through it.
âjust like that, baby.â âcum all over my fingers, soak this pretty lilâ ring.âÂ
as much as he enjoys fingering you with his ring on, he loves it when you take a bit of control and take care of him the same way. rubbing over his clothed erection with your left hand, the big diamond on your engagement band looking small next to his sore, hard cock.Â
simonâs eyes flutter when you squeeze his shaft, precum leaking from his slit and slowly dribbling over your fingers â over your ring, coating the big diamond. heâll guide your hand up and down his shaft urging you to go quicker, he loves the way your soft hands feel compared to his calloused ones.
heâs bucking his hips upwards into your hand, his head tilted back while heâs whining desperately. simon normally keeps his noises under control but he hasnât felt your touch in so long.
âfuck, a-ah. canât wait to marry you and fuck you right.âÂ
his breath hitches when you squeeze his angry red tip, the cool metal of your ring rubbing against his slit. with a deep groan heâs cumming all over your hand; watching with wide eyes, the way your fingers play with his hot, sticky cum.Â
after your wedding ceremony, simon drags the both of you into the bathroom. shamelessly, heâs bending you over the sink, unzipping his trousers, and hiking your wedding dress up.Â
âsi, we canât. people are waiting for us.â you squeal when he snaps the garter against your thigh, his rough hands squeezing your hips and pulling your thong down. simon only rolls his eyes, leaning down and spitting on your exposed pussy. he rubs his cock between your folds, using his spit as a lubricant.
âthey can wait, mâgonna take care of my wife first.â
how could you say no, especially to your husband?
AN: i know nothing about weddings or marriage, but i heart hubby si

My first ever comic con! And first cosplay too. Of course it's gonna be my boy :] Ramblings about the process are under the cut(Let me know if?? You would want me to elaborate with process images for any of the steps?)
The costume took me forever to make, as I've never done any machine sewing, sculpting, fabric dying or spray painting before but learning all of these was so fucking fun!! I never realised just how many different skills go into making a cosplay but it was so worth it!!!
Almost all of the clothes(except the hat) were purchased first as bases, but all of the detailing was added by me. All of the fabric used was originally just scraps that I was given for free so I needed to learn how to dye and dye all of the stars, they were originally white.
The sewing machine was its own beast that brought me tons of frustration from the lack of skill and knowledge (it was devastating to find out that 95% of fuck ups were my fault and not the machine's lmao). But as a result, a hat sewn from scratch, all of the fur trims, embroidery on the corset, stars and the collar(which is very hard to see on the pictures unfortunately) was all added manually. The stars and the stripes(on the back of the cape) were attached using heat-and-bond adhesive (I WISH I knew about such thing just when I started working on this. It would save me so much time and nerves.)
Then I found out about polymorph(mouldable plastic) and it has become the next thing I wanted to learn, to sculpt the claws and the fangs(yes, they're handmade jfksjs). The claws I then primed and painted in trillion coats because I wasn't satisfied with the colour of the spray paint. The fangs I moulded to my own teeth and then stained with tea to match the colour of my teeth :)c
As for makeup, I used Mehron Paradise water activated paints. At first I wanted to try to save money and bought myself Snazaroo instead, which unfortunately turned out to be a waste. Snazaroo didn't hold on my face for longer than 2 hours, cracking and peeling awfully. Mehron on the other hand survived 11 hours of me smiling, talking, emoting and such and didn't even crease at the smile lines(I'm actually shocked about that). It obviously works like any other makeup which means your skin texture and wrinkles won't go anywhere but Mehron's elasticity pleasantly surprised me. It did obviously smear from sweat and saliva(if you're eating and licking your lips) but if you don't touch the skin it just dries again, self setting. But if it's dry it's fully smear-proof. Highly recommend!
And last but not least, I've decided against painting my hands as it was very risky that I will stain everything I touch at the smallest hint of sweat. So instead I got myself gloves-tights(? Not sure how they're called but it's made from the same fabric as tights) and painted them with normal acrylic paint(did you know you could dye fabric with acrylic paint? I personally didn't), then heat set with an iron and voilĂ , they're reusable, my hands are not stained after an exhausting day and I don't stain everything I touch. It worked wonderfully which honestly was a surprise as I was really sceptical that acrylic paint will somehow stay in place.
I think this whole thing took me minimum of 6 months with big-big breaks for my school and life in general. But I'm really proud! This project taught me so many new skills and I couldn't have been happier about learning new knowledge, even if it sucked to fail in the meantime.
Everyone at the con was really nice and gave me a large confidence boost even tho it was my first time and I had no idea what I was doing. Taking photos with other people was really awkward/new for me as I hate cameras so I really had no idea how to pose/behave in front of one. But that's okay I think. This whole experience definitely made me want to do this again, so I think that will come with experience. Thank you for reading this far, hope you enjoyed this little summary :)
#my art#cosplay#biting the hand that feeds au#moondrop#fnaf moondrop#fnaf moon#moondrop fnaf#moon fnaf#bhtf moondrop#i had such a good time#little awkward moments of me being autistic and not reading social cues and/or having trouble processing didn't go anywhere#but that's okay#i don't think i was ever complimented as much as i was complimented at the con so that's a W#artist alley was definitely an experience of me just finding out how actually autistic i am#because i really Am Not Interested in anything aside from my special interests#literally got myself a singular Moon sticker and a singular Mothman print#that's it lmfaooo#i also had people come up to me to just give me a tiny plastic newborn toy and run away#10/10 hilarious#bhtf au#i MIGHT just draw Moon in some of those poses because đ#also maybe will make a separate post just showing off all of the details that are not as noticeable on camera? maybe? if yall would want#the cape and the hat ARE SO FUCKING FLUFFY#thank you silvermizuki for the furđ«”

SUMMARY: The other Pillars are convinced Tomioka has something against the latest Hashira, but have no idea your husband is simply looking for you during your pregnancy. A/N: I think something glitched when I was making the header...didn't crop properly. Anyway, enjoy this trash and I'm sorry if it's not up to my usual standard but I just got the random idea in the middle of the night! WARNINGS: Fem Reader, pregnancy MASTERLIST/PREVIOUS FICS
Everyone was convinced Tomioka Giyuu hated you right from the start.
You were first introduced to the Hashira when Oyakata-sama called them all for a meeting on the latest reports of demon activity, but requested them all to stay a little longer before being dismissed. Amane gestured for you to come forward with a gentle smile and you shuffled out of the shadows with your hands clasped together in nervousness but with a bright bream upon your face. The Hashiraâs eyes caught yours in surprise, wondering if you were perhaps a new Kakushi since you werenât wearing a slayer uniform, but instead a traditional (f/c) yukata.
Then their eyes strayed downwards and changed their minds about that, but nonetheless still remained in confusion.
âThis is our newest member, (y/n) (y/l/n), the (b/f) Hashira. She was supposed to join our ranks quite some months ago but due to her sudden pregnancy she will for now be an honorary member.â
The only sign of your anxiety was the blush on your cheeks and the hand rubbing at your swollen abdomen. âHi everyone! Iâm so happy to meet you all! I wonât be on the battlefield for some time and Iâm sorry I canât fight alongside you for now, but I look forward to getting to know you all. If you need anything, Iâm always at the (e/n) Estate.â
The ice was broken and you were immediately approached by many of the Hashira. Himejima-san cried and wished you and your child good health, making you feel a little embarrassed but thanked him anyway. The Mist Pillar Tokito simply stared at you, then at the sky, then at you again before asking what were you doing here again (later on, he startled you by appearing behind and questioning you in that airheaded manner of his if he could talk to the baby).
You were also tackled by the Love Pillar who introduced herself as Kanroji Mitsuri and your new best friend as well as the calmer Insect Pillar, Kocho Shinobu, who despite slightly unnerving you with her smile touched you greatly when she said you could always stop by the Butterfly Mansion for checkups or simply a visit.
âHow far along are you?â
âAbout five months, I think!â
âKYAAAAAAAAAAH! Your baby is going to be so cute! Whatâs itâs name? Do you know if itâs a he or a she yet? I canât wait to be an aunt!â
âHeh, Iâm not too sure yet, but I have a feeling itâs going to be a boy!â
Mitsuri squealed again, causing you to laugh at her genuine happiness. She whipped her head behind her and called out to the silently glowering Snake Pillar. âIguro-san, donât you think the baby will be cute? I really wish Iâll have some of my own one day!â
You and Shinobu shared a smirk as the Wind Pillar grumpily slapped his friendâs back and dragged the furiously red Iguro away, muttering viciously about not wasting any more time in hunting a Twelve Kizuki.
âOh look, there's Tomioka-san. Why hasn't he come and said hello yet?â
âAh well, a lone friendless wolf as always.â Shinobu didn't see you originally visibly brighten at Mitsuriâs words and turn surprised at hers.
Indeed Tomioka was standing awkwardly as always a little - long, actually - way off. What was not as always was that horrified, slack jawed look on his face instead of his usual blank, emotionless one.
âTomioka-san? Are you alright? You've been making that face for a long time alreadyâŠâ Shinobu's eye twitched, but you didn't notice, suddenly preoccupied with Muichiroâs intense questioning of whether he could play with the baby when it was born.
âShe shouldn't be a Hashira.â
The remaining Hashira found themselves narrowing their eyes at the Water Pillar's blunt, if not rude, words.
That would be just one of the many events that further convinced them of his intense dislike of you.
***
You started going over a lot to the Butterfly Mansion over then next few months, becoming a fast favorite among the girls for your cheerful attitude and your baby; even Kanao cracked a smile at you when you came around. When the other Hashira arrived to be healed you always made it a point to go pay them a visit and in turn you pretty soon had every one of them in your back pocket, including the harsh, loudmouthed Wind Pillar Shinazugawa who constantly gave you a jolt with the complete 360 with his attitude around you, to the point you could call him a good friend.
Being friends with him usually meant hearing him grumble about the stupid waterboy.
âWhy doesnât he ever look at you anyway, turning away like that. So rude, that little (beep) (beep) (beep)-â
âEheh, Shinazugawa-san, donât swear so loudly, heâll hear you!â
You had stopped by to Sanemiâs room when Shinobu had mentioned he was there to be patched up after a mission and knowing how busy she was, had offered to go help change his bandages with the basic medical knowledge you had picked up over the years of being a slayer. Reluctantly she had agreed and so here you were, chatting away with him until he spotted Tomioka passing by (he poked his head in actually, otherwise Sanemi would never have noticed him) and started complaining about him once more, especially when you had called out to him and Tomioka had simply whipped his head to the side to stare into the distance.
Really, Sanemi wasnât the only one to notice how Tomioka avoided you like the plague with that stupid, vacant, red expression of his.
âHeâs just shy, he doesnât mean to be rude!â You defended the poor Pillar, continuing with rewinding the new wrappings.
âTch, you should see how he acts at the meetings, like heâs better than us or something,â was the growling reply. â(beep) doesnât know how to (beep) talk with anyone with his (beep) attitude.â
âI donât think he thinks heâs better than all of you, maybe itâs just something else,â You hum, finishing up. âThatâs all! Iâm glad the demon didnât go any further than a scratch.â
Shinazugawa grunted, then his gaze caught yours and softened. âBy the way, whoâs the dad?â
âOh, itâs -â
â(y/n)-san!â Three heads peeked in from the door shyly. âCan you come and play with us?â
âOf course! Bye, Shinazugawa!â
Like always the reply was only a âtchâ.
***
Another thing was that he never stopped repeating what he said at the first time everyone met you: âShe shouldnât be a Hashiraâ, going as far as to attempt to prevent you from wielding a sword, although this was only noticed by Tanjiro.
You had agreed to the Kamaboko Squadâs requests (aka demands by Inosuke and begging from Zenitsu) to train together, despite Tanjiroâs worries which you brushed off. The boys were very rambunctious and did tire you out quite a bit, but you were having so much fun and they were so eager you just went on sparring with them until even Inosuke muttered a plead for a quick break, unable to beat your incredible swordsmanship.
â(y/n)-chan!!! Whoâs the lucky guy you married?! You never told us and I want to know how he managed to score someone so beautiful like you so I can do it with Nezuko-chan!â Zenitsu simpered, scooting closer, ignoring Tanjiroâs scandalized look.
âWhatâs married?â Inosukeâs voice was muffled underneath his boar mask and the mountain of onigiri you had brought he was stuffing into his mouth, so none of you heard him.
You giggle, placing a hand on your stomach. âHeâs very sweet, although heâs honestly very shy and doesnât talk much. Iâm sure youâve met him before! Can you guess?â
âWoah, really?â Tanjiro brightened, wondering who it could be, but his next question was interrupted by an interrogative monotone.
âWhat are you doing? You shouldnât be training.â Tomioka stood in front of them, the first time anyone had seen him interact with you without just staring at the ground. His face was as empty as the void but there was a tiny crease between his eyebrows and Tanjiro didnât have to inhale to smell the worry reeking off him.
âI didnât know you were so concerned about (y/n)-chan, Tomioka-san.â Zenitsuâs eyebrows shot up, disappearing under his hair while he glowered judgmentally.
Tomioka made no reply, only swiftly grabbing and removing the sword from your hand. âShe shouldnât be a Hashira, much less train. You nearly died fighting a demon not too long ago, youâre in no shape to be doing this.â
With that he abruptly walked off and left Zenitsu and Inosuke to scream at him for being such an un-gentleman and for not fighting with them while you looked away sadly.
Tanjiro wondered why he didnât once smell dislike on Tomioka. Only fear.
***
âWhatâs he got against (l/n)?â Obanai joined in on the conversation from his perch on the tree. Heâd look for reasons to hate against the Water Pillar all the time, but unlike the others this time round his hatred was justified.
Tengen rolled his eyes flamboyantly. âI know! Heâs constantly acting like sheâs a pest to be around, but she doesnât seem to have beef with him. Whatâs wrong with that bland creature?â
âOh come on! We donât actually know if he hates her,â Rengoku protested mildly.
âThen why does he keep refusing to even make eye contact with her?â
âI mean, Iguro, you canât talk, you only ever look at Kanrojiâ - Obanai turned away, blushing furiously as Tengen cackled - âbut I get your point. The other day I walked in on them arguing. I canât believe he would keep reminding her of past failures without keeping her current state in mind!â
âPerhaps he only wants to try and convince her to stay safe during this time and discourage her from slaying for now?â
âRengoku, my best buddy, youâre too optimistic.â
âThereâs no other reason heâd give her the cold shoulder 24/7.â
Soon the conversation drifted to other topics, but little would they know Rengoku was the closest to the truthâŠ
***
Shinobu already had enough on her hands with all the screaming, panic and blood, but of course Tomioka just had to show up at the most inopportune moment.
It had been a relatively quiet day as the two of you sat on the engawa, exchanging war stories over tea when with a sudden cry you had doubled over in pain. Your water had broken and you were heading into labour - quickly.
Just barely the Insect Pillar had managed to get you to a bed and sent the Butterfly Girls scurrying for the necessities, hiding her uneasiness at the slight earliness of your boyâs arrival to keep you calm and help you through it. You were doing well under her coaxing to use Total Concentration Breathing, and thankfully Shinazugawa was still around to help you relax with a familiar face.
Then Aoi had burst in with a frantic expression and thundering footsteps from behind that certainly werenât hers.
âShinobu-san, Tomioka is demanding to be let in-â
âKeep him out!â Shinobu grimaced, returning her attention to you. Sheâs heard and seen what heâs like around you, and other than the fact he has no business to be here she didnât want to send you into a further state of panic. âHe doesnât like her, and if he opens that mouth of his to say anything more I might be responsible for two deaths.â
You dug your nails into Sanemiâs proffered hand, screaming in pain. He winced but said nothing, only looking up with a determined look in his eyes at Shinobu. âIâll go keep Tomioka out, just make sure she delivers safely.â
Without waiting for a reply Sanemi rushed out to bar the doorway, leaving Shinobu to assure and handle your birthing with the anxious assistance of the Butterfly Girls. The pain in your stomach was surely abominable, intolerable, and Shinobu found herself growing more alarmed with every minute the baby wasnât coming out.
â(y/n), I need you to push harder, alright? Can you do that for me?â
âN-no - where is he?â
âYour husband? Iâll get someone to call him, donât worry,â Shinobu lied with dawning horror that in the entire time she had known youâŠshe had no actual idea who you were married to. âBut he wouldnât like you see you like this, right? You can do it. Just keep your breathing under control.â
âJUST (beep) OFF, TOMIOKA!â Shinazugawaâs voice bellowed through the Mansion. His stocky form soon appeared, stubbornly acting as an indomitable barrier against the equally stubborn Tomioka who was desperately trying to barge his way through.
âTomioka, we donât need unnecessary people here to worry (y/n) more-â
âTHATâS MY WIFE!â
Whether it was because Tomioka had never raised his voice before or the sheer shock of it all or the fact you reached out for his hand, Shinobu and Sanemi let him through.
***
âI thought I was going to lose you when I heard you screaming like that from outside.â Giyuu nuzzled deeper into your neck, absently stroking your babyâs tiny hand. âDonât scare me like that again.â
You played with the strands of his hair with a teasing smirk. âYou did to, banging into the room like that, with the âThatâs my wife!â. It was very romantic of you, Giyuu~â
âI was in a rush.â Giyuu smacked his face into the pillow, embarrassed while you laugh.
âAra ara~ Are you both done cuddling? I want to perform a quick checkup on your baby now, if you donât mind, and all the Hashira are here to ask you a lot of things, Tomioka.â Shinobu stood at the doorway with her customary smile, a twitching eye and crossed arms. Behind her were the shadows of the others trying to peek over her shoulder or head into the room to congratulate you on your baby or beat up Tomioka (both for some).
âAsk about what?â Giyuu lifted up his head in confusion. You snort at his obliviousness, cooing at your precious sleeping baby before gently passing him to Shinobu.
âMAYBE ABOUT HOW (Y/N) IS YOUR WIFE AND YOU NEVER TOLD US?â
âKYAAAAAAAAAH! Thatâs so cute of you, Tomioka!â
âDo you hate us all or something?!â
âNoâŠ? No one asked and I thought (y/n) would have told you,â Giyuu said blankly, glancing at you with wide blue eyes. You sheepishly raised your shoulders.
âI tried to tell them but we kept getting interrupted or had no chance.â
âYou did make us all think you hated (y/n) with your behaviour, Tomioka.â Shinobu raised an eyebrow. âAfter all, you rarely spoke to her and when you did it was only to reprimand her, but I can see now it was probably out of worry for your child and herâŠalthough rather harshly.â
âOh!â You burst out laughing, shaking so hard you nearly couldnât take back your awakening baby Shinobu was handing over. âGiyuuâs just very shy! See-â
You pressed a quick peck to his cheek.

Drown in the Deep
Synopsis: Drown your sorrows away into the deep dark ocean where it canât be found. Feel its cold embrace and let the water in. Maybe then, youâll see him again when you no longer feel anything.
CONTENT WARNING: The reader very much intends to die/get themself killed, detailing how theyâd love to drown in the abyss.
Notes: Sebastian Solace x GN!Reader / Spoilers for Sebastianâs backstory / Possibly OOC / Established relationship, can be interpreted as either married or not but they are living together / Angst (Hurt w/ eventual comfort) / Death + blood (not the reader despite the synopsis and content warning) / Not really a happy ending honestly
(This is VERY self-indulgent I love hate Sebastian. Also a bit of experimentation and playing around with his character. Iâm not so good on romance stuff, so I hope whatâs here is to your liking. Also rewrote some parts A LOT due to idea change/read up on lore and realized things didnât add up here. I think Iâve got most of it covered though. Anyway I love how a few runs of playing Pressure for the first time, I died to A-60 HAHAAAAA kill me.)
Credits: Dividers by @cafekitsune
A chance to be freed from your criminal record, and a reward worth to last for a very, very long time. As they always say, âHigh risk, high reward,â and the risks were certainly high. You could very much die. It was a chance anyone crazy enough would take.
But you didnât sign up for this for the reward. You didnât care about it in the slightest. To you, this would be an easy way out. An escape from this dreadful life fate had decided for you. So here you are, sitting in a submarine with three others in silence. Thereâs no telling on how deep youâre going, they never bothered to tell you how exactly far it was nor the possible dangers youâll be facing. Youâll welcome anything if it means you wonât wake up again.
Still, you wondered why things went the way it did. Everything was fine until your partner was framed for a murder he didnât commit. Nine murders, to be exact. You were there for the trial. You saw and heard everything. You kept your cool throughout all of it. You were hoping, praying to whatever god is out there to show them he was innocent. None of it mattered in the end.
After the trial, you went straight home, not even bothering to listen to your family who was also there. By the time you entered your shared home and locked the door behind you, you stood in silence for a while. You didnât know what you were feeling at that very moment. You felt hot tears beginning to swell up, and your vision beginning to blur. Your legs eventually give out and you fell to your knees. You muffled your sobs with your hand as you curled up on the floor.
You couldnât get yourself to calm down for a while. You donât even know how long you were laying there once you feel your tears dry up and the sound of your heart beating rapidly leaves your ears. You donât know what to do.
He was imprisoned and sentenced for execution for the nine murders you know he didnât cause, but that didnât matter. You werenât there when it supposedly happened. You couldnât prove anything. You were powerless to do anything.
Many early mornings were spent struggling to even leave the house, let alone the bed itself if you even managed to drag yourself to bed. You were too exhausted to even try for most. When you did manage to begin your day, you quickly became aware that everything is so much more irritating. People talking to you, certain noises you hear, how your food tastes⊠You just wanted to go back home and waste away.
As for majority of your nights, they have been spent just curled up in bed and crying until you eventually exhausted yourself. Gripping anything that resembled or had traces left of him and holding it close, hoping just the mere fleeting scent of him lulls you to sleep. Feeling the cold and empty space beside you and being reminded heâs gone, as if the reminders from your family werenât already enough.
You know your family has been trying to contact you, sometimes even coming to the house, but youâve ignored them every time. You donât want to see them. You donât want to talk, to hear, or to even think about them. You just wanted to be left alone.
A few years had gone by since then but you didnât feel any better than before. You werenât sure if you felt worse. Maybe it was because you felt numb nowadays.
Before you knew it, you soon find yourself behind bars. What you did, you donât know. If you really did it, you didnât care. You donât know how long your sentence is, but you donât care. You donât know if whatever you did caused any deaths, but you donât care. You donât care anymore. You just wanted to drown in your despair, and this⊠âjob offerâ seemed promising. Retrieve a crystal deep inside a facility hidden in the deepest parts of the ocean.
To be so deep underwater to where the sun does not shine, to drift endlessly as water fills your lungs and it becomes so unbearably cold. To where you canât feel anything anymore, not your body nor your emotions. To just feel the cold water and see nothing but darkness as the water pulls your body to wherever it so desires. Perhaps your remains could become the next meal for whatever lurks in the oceanâs abyss. Your body would never be found. Youâd be gone without a trace.
So you signed up, knowing they donât expect you to return. You donât either. You donât plan on getting that crystal, and you donât plan on returning alive.
The shotgun shell directed at your neck on the diving gear given to you seemed promising as well.
If there is an afterlife, maybe you can see him again there. That sounded nice. You just wish you werenât sent down with three other people. You never thought itâd be so hard to die in a place where risks of death were incredibly high. Perhaps it was because they wanted to use each other to get the reward for themselves, so they kept each other alive as long as possible. Covering each otherâs eyes when the shark was outside the window, turning off anotherâs flashlight when an odd black figure appeared in the dark, saving each other from the creature inside the lockers⊠They werenât going to let such easy bait be killed so easily, not this early.
Still, you strayed close behind as they often checked if you were still there. You kept your head low, until you heard another pair of footsteps from behind you.
Strange⊠The other three are already in front of you⊠And theyâre just looking through drawers for anything useful.
The footsteps are getting louder and faster. You turned around just in time to see a strangely humanoid, armless figure running at you. It yelped the moment you locked eyes on it, immediately turning tail and running away.
âWhat the hell was that?!â One of the other expendables exclaimed.
Both of you walked back into the previous room to see where it possibly came from. There was a hole in the wall, shaped exactly like the creature they just saw.
âSo theyâre really in the walls, huhâŠâ they then lightly punch your shoulder, âHey, good job. I didnât even hear it until it made that weird sound before it ran off,â
You say nothing.
âCome on, letâs keep going,â
You looked at them as they rejoined the others then back at the hole. You wished you didnât turn around.
After a few more doors, the lights suddenly flickered. The one closest to you grabbed you and had you hide in a locker. Maybe they picked up on what youâve been trying to do. You did willingly look into the eyes of the shark just outside the window, and they had to cover your eyes and drag you along with them. You also opened a locker that was already occupied by a strange creature coated in black and, what you assumed were, purple eyes. You hoped theyâd leave you behind to be devoured by it, but you were pulled out and was patched up as best as they could do it. The damage wasnât too severe, but still. There just had to be a spare medical kit in the room.
Maybe you werenât being so discreet about it.
There were only three lockers in the room you were currently in and none in the room prior. They pressed on to the next door ahead. You were about to open your locker to step out into the path of the oncoming creature, but it zipped by you in an instant. It was much faster than what youâve been dealing with.
You hear the others leave their locker followed with a quick flash of the flash beacon. You slowly step out of your locker and follow them into the next room to meet up with the other person. The one in front of you pulled out their flashlight, but ended up tripping over something. You stopped walking as they shine their light over what made them trip.
It was the one who ran ahead to find a spare locker. There was no blood or any signs of injury, but they werenât moving and their eyes were still wide open. The other two tried to get them to respond, even shaking them, but they remained unresponsive. It was almost like they were just left an empty shell.
You restrain yourself from speaking as you wouldâve called them an idiot for giving up a hiding spot in favor to make sure their bait stayed alive for a little longer, only to get killed in the process. Only 27 doors have been opened. Surely not all of you can survive much longer.
By the 35th door, one of them had used a code breacher to open a door without the keycard. Once the door slid open, a large creature with a smiling grey mask was seen on the other side of the door. Before they could react, it lunged towards them and instantly killed them on the spot before retracting their hand as it gets caught in the door while it was sliding shut. The blood splattered all over the floor and even reached you and the other expendable beside you.
By the 47th door, the lights flickered as you searched through a room off to the side. You can hear what you can describe as a distorted chorus faintly echoing down the hall, and soon a loud scream followed with multiple banging against a locker. The noise stopped as you walked to the door leading back to the path youâre supposed to take and you only see the aftermath. A fresh pool of blood and a destroyed locker. There was no body. The creature responsible is no where to be found.
You were alone now. Finally.
You kept your head low as you continued on, not bothering to search through the drawers for anything. Your body is starting to ache at this point. You opened the 50th door leading into a dimly lit corridor.
âNeed to stock up?â
You looked up as you see the ventâs cover fall over. You turned around, then back towards the vent. You can see the next door ahead that requires a keycard, but you canât find it from out here. You didnât have a code breacher either as the others you were previously with had used them up.
âCome on, I wonât bite,â the strangely familiar voice beckons.
Had he not spoken twice, you wouldâve thought you were hallucinating. Or maybe you are right now. A sort of âfalse hope,â so to speak. Not to mention how you can just barely recognize the voice. Youâre having a hard time processing it after everything.
With no where else to turn, you walk to the vent and slowly crawl through. The room was dark, but lit up as you made it to the other side. You managed to get a good look at him, not exactly expecting some sort of fish-human hybrid.
âAh, there you-â you see how his smile quickly disappears and his eyes widened once he sees you.
You only stare at him, tilting your head slightly to the side. He looked like he had just seen a ghost which wouldnât be so far off considering what you had to witness for the past 49 doors, but why was he looking at you like that? He cautiously lowered himself down, close enough to your height but still far enough for some space.
You instinctively, though slightly, moved away as his hand moved closer to your face. That was until he finally spoke.
â[Name]..?â
You stepped back upon hearing your name leave his mouth. You narrow your eyes at him, âHow do youâŠ?â
Then it finally registered in your head. Youâre not just hearing things, that voice was his.
Your eyes widened, now feeling his cold hand against your cheek, âS-Sebastian?â
âYesâŠ! Yes!â He nods, smiling widely, âItâs me!â
You couldnât hold back your tears at all. The moment he confirmed it was really him was what finally broke down your walls. The last time you had cried this much was when he was to be executed. You had to hold onto his hand to keep yourself standing. He seemed to sense that as his third limb pulled you closer to him and held you in a tight embrace. You buried your face into his shoulder and sobbed until his grip on you got a bit too tight.
âW-Wait, Sebastian-!â You cried, âLet go!â
He gasps, immediately pulling away. You winced as you gently rubbed your arm. You looked up at Sebastian again and smiled.
âYou have no idea how happy I am to see youâre still alive. I have so many questions. Can I-?â
Sebastian stops you there, âHang on. Before I get to answering your questions, I have one tiny question for you,â he suddenly towers over you as he yells, âHow the hell did you get here?! And why the hell did you sign up for this?! Didnât they tell you the risks? That you could very much die?â
You jumped at his sudden change in tone and almost fell back. His tail had went to cover the opening of the vent in case you ultimately decided to make a run for it. What do you even tell him? That you signed up just to die? No other reason. How could you tell him that?
âI-I⊠Well, yes, they did. I just- Itâs becauseâŠâ you donât know what to say.
âTell me the truth,â he demands. You swear you heard a hiss in his voice, âOf all people, why did you have to end up here?â
âI signed up for this becauseâŠâ you paused, âSpecifically because I wanted to die. I knew what I was getting myself into, Sebastian. They didnât tell me anything specific,â
âOf course those idiots didnâtâŠâ He scoffed, âThey donât expect you or the others to return,â
âI never planned to. I couldnât care less about this so called crystal they told me I was supposed to retrieve,â you looked away, âHonestly, I donât even remember what I did to end up here⊠Maybe I did something that killed a few people, or maybe I was framed like you,â
Sebastian calmed down a little and had moved back as you spoke. He repositions himself so that his back was against the wall and his tail would nudge you towards him.
âYou said you signed up with the intention to die here,â he then says, âWhy?â
You sit beside him as his tail slightly curls around you, âYou were sent for execution and confirmed to be dead. I just couldnât live with the fact that I couldnât see you,â
His looks at your bloodied clothes and noticed bandages through some of the holes in your uniform. He points to it, âAre those..?â
âItâs from this weird black tentacle creature in a locker. Itâs nothing too serious, if thatâs what youâre wondering,â
He muttered a name you didnât quite catch and he quickly moves on, âAnd the blood?â
You shake your head, âItâs not mine,â
He lets out a sigh of relief at that. It was finally your turn to ask questions.
âSebastian, how did you survive?â
âWas picked up by Urbanshade before I was supposed executed. Guess they decided itâd be better if I was officially declared dead,â
âAnd you became this during that time?â
âYou could say that. Itâs, uh⊠Itâs a long story,â
He doesnât want to discuss it and you knew that was the case. So, you didnât question it further. You have a good feeling you may have an idea now that you noticed a document on the table. Whatever was in there might have the answers to most of your questions, but youâre not sure if you even want to read it if he lets you. The mere thought of what could be mentioned in there makes you sick.
Thereâs still one other that you desperately want an answer for.
âWeâre⊠not leaving this place, are we?â You questioned, not looking at him, âAt least, Iâm probably not thanks to this diving gear⊠One shotgun shell pointed directly at my neck, and if I even try to take it off, tamper with it, or leave this place,â
You stopped there. Both of you knew. Sebastian didnât say anything for a moment, âI can get both of us out of here. I just need more time,â
More time. How much more time before your body can no longer keep going? You want to believe him, you really do, but you really might actually die here.
How ironic. You came here because you wanted to die. You watched the others die before your very eyes without much of a reaction. All of a sudden, you feel your stomach drop.
Youâre afraid to die.

Melissa hated her feelings.Â
She buried them in a chest in the 5th grade (along with her ability to express them). Other peoples' feelings on the other hand was her forte. She could process, decipher and regurgitate other peoples emotions effortlessly. This gift couldâve taken her through college, all the way to a degree in psychology. Distinguished Dr. Jefferson with a PhD and a cozy office and impressive roster of high-profile, weallthy clients was a shiny idea. Fate would have a different hand for Melissa her talents were exhausted on mediating family fights, friend group drama, and charming her way out of confronting her own feelings.Â
âFeelings.â Even saying it out loud to herself seemed silly. Something reserved for âcry babiesâ and water signs. Typical Sunday nights started tame, reading or writing fan-fiction and drinking cranapple juice. And then like clock work her father would yell her name,Â
âMELISSA!!!â Emotionless, sheâd get up dust off her Winnie the Pooh shorts and make her way downstairs. On the long walk down the hall to the stairs leading to the living room brawl, sheâd go through her check list:Â
1.) Donât cry. Â
 2.) Stay neutral; Deescalate
3.)Donât take anything personal. This isnât about you
She padded down the carpeted stairs in her old soft socks to see her mother tightlipped and tear streaked thinking,Â
âshe broke rule number 1â. Her father, Michael was proud and angry, his big belly filled with self righteousness. She knew he would be unyielding in his resolve and at this point her only option was to deescalate.
âRule number 2â. Then her sister the water sign and calamity for the evening sat on the floor nearly fetal, face red and raw with emotion.Â
âIts not your faultâ Melissa wanted to say âYou just didnât follow the rules⊠youâre loved.â But she couldnât say that because sheâd be breaking rule number 3. It wasnât about how Melissa felt. Even though she felt like screaming,
âVANESSA, YOU DIDNâT DO ANYTHING WRONG. DADâYOU JUST HAVE PENT UP ANGER BECAUSE YOU GREW UP IN THE HOOD OF DETROIT AS A BLACK MAN IN THE 60s AND 70s. YOU NEED A HEALTHY OUTLET LIKE.. I DONT KNOW⊠THERAPY?!?!?! THIS IS A WASTE OF ALL OF OUR TIME. I LITERALLY JUST WROTE THE BEST SAILOR SATURN x CHIBI USA FANFICTION EVER AND THIS IS KILLING MY VIBE!â
Instead, she decide to hear every one out. She decided to help. To calm her dragon of a father down. To be a translator for her emotional sister. To not take it personal. To stay neutral. To not cry.Â
9 years later, at her fathers funeral she still never broke the rules. She played her flute and spoke at his memorial. She was present for her mother because it wasnât about her. When other peoples' emotions bubbled up she stayed neutral. She sat through both services and she did not cry. It wasnât until she excused herself to make a phone call outside did she collapse onto the stairs of the funeral home and weep alone in the cold Detroit snow.Â
Itâs okay to break the rules sometimes, she reminded herself. As long as no one else sees it.
Traumas began to compact on Melissa, as they do. Humans tend to collect traumas like pebbles on a long hike. We toss them into our backpacks and keep moving forward. Some hikers would falter, but Melissa was built for this. Sheâd carried the stones of her familyâs traumas uphill for years. She was strong.Â
When men began to befriend and reject her, saying âyouâre too good for meâ but not too good to make them feel good. She carried that.Â
When childhood friends began to cut off the strings of her heart, saying âWe canât be friends anymoreâ. She carried that.
When her family separated like dandelion seeds, it seemed like theyâd never be together again. Melissa slept on so many couches, floors and car seats sometimes she didnât know if sheâd see them again.Â
She carried that.Â
Dying was never an option though sometimes she didnât mind the thought of it. Peace and warmth were two things sheâd desperately yearned and hadnât felt fully since the womb. Then one night in the pitch black of the hot, sweaty, roach-infested studio in southeast Houston she slept in she wondered:
âWhy canât I break the rules?â Sheâd seen everyone else in her life break them like popsicle sticks. And she didnât just want to break the rules, she wanted to break them boldly and loudly and annoyingly and honestly and sloppily like every one else gets to do. It was in that moment, tucked in a thin jacket inside of an 8-foot high instrument cubby in the inky darknessâit hit her.Â
âIs my suffering for a high purpose? Or is my suffering trying to kill me?âÂ
She cried.Â
She escalated.Â
She took it personal.Â
But it wasnât enough. She wanted to scream in a microphone in a sea of shadowy faces. She drank whiskey and wove her pain into rock music.Â
âMusic is my boyfriendâ she declared. The only man that kept his baggage to hisself. And it healed her. It gave her voice reason and purpose.Â
The pebble-laden hike became lighter with time. The incline eventually evened out to flat, beautiful landscapes where the breeze finally met her back. She knew it wasnât gonna be easy or sunshine but even the rain cleansed her and it was beautiful too.Â
Somewhere in the rain she decided rules were meant to be built and broken. Like trust and love and friendships and families. Because every thing deserves the opportunity to change and grow.Â
So... She broke rule number 1 on stage while singing a beautiful song. Dr. Jefferson (PhD) screamed for her to stop but she didnât listen and the tears flowed like rivers of emotion down her cheeks.Â
Rule number 2Â was broken when she grew older and saw the injustices of the world. Marching with hundreds in protest she realized not everything needs to be pacified.Â
And one day when she finally fell in love, she broke rule number 3. No matter how much training sheâd done she couldn't help but take every thing her lover said and did personal. But it was ok. Because in all her resistance she realized breaking rules was her power.Â
Melissa began to fall for her feelings. Her feelings gave life purpose. They werenât always logical, as feelings seldom are. They were sloppy and embarrassing and rude and so fucking uncomfortable. But they were hers. And they were real. And when she sat alone sipping wine, staring at the moonâŠThey were the only ones still by her side. Ready to break the rules for her because they loved her.Â
And she finally loved them back.Â

SOME* OF YA'LL ARE NEVER GOING TO GET YOUR DESIRES, AND YOU'LL HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT YOURSELVES
*WARNING: TOUGH LOVE RANT. also, like everything in life, take what resonates with you and leave the rest. if you're not doing anything i mention in this post, then this post doesn't apply to you.
before anyone comes for me, MOST of us are going through (or have gone through) hard circumstances. many of us have come from abusive households, abusive relationships, poverty, homelessness, & just overall bad circumstances.
but you know why the bloggers & anons who succeed in manifesting their desires/desired lives ACTUALLY SUCCEED?
because they took accountability for their current state and their limiting patterns.
because they were disciplined & determined enough to claim their desire(s), apply the law, & persist regardless of EVERYTHING.
because they knew that this practice would actually change their lives forever and allowed NOTHING to stand in their way.
AND GUESS WHAT? NOW THEY HAVE THEIR DESIRES/DESIRED LIFE!
if you were to be 100% honest and tell me why after months/years of being in this community you STILL haven't manifested your desires/desired life yet, what would be the answer?
overconsumption? procrastination? laziness? lack of persistence?
whatever the case may be, what i do know for a FACT is that it has been no one's fault but YOURS.
many of you guys come running on this platform; asking the same repetitive questions, complaining about not seeing results, whining about how sad your life is and how hard your circumstances are, or just straight up hating on some of these bloggers that are helping you FOR FREE, when they could be using that time to enjoy their desires/the life that they manifested for themselves.
LIKE...DO YOU REALIZE HOW PATHETIC & ENTITLED SOME OF YOU GUYS ARE?
"can you pleaseee manifest/tap into the void for me?" đ„ș
"im so lazyyy, i can't be bothered to persist..." ïżœïżœïżœ
"loa is FAKE! you guys are a bunch of lying b***hes..." đ€Ź
"my life is sooo hard, i have such a horrible life...*continues to trauma dump*" đ
OHHH MYYY F*CKINGGG GODDD!
there are MILLIONS of people in the world who are in unfavorable/horrible circumstances that have NO IDEA what the law of assumption is, and have NO WAY to access this type of information!
you guys literally have the knowledge and awareness to make the most beautiful life possible for yourselves with JUST YOUR IMAGINATION, and yet, A LOT of you guys are the most ungrateful, lazy, irresolute, undisciplined whiners, who don't want to do even the BARE MINIMUM to change your entire lives!!
TRUST ME, everyone on this platform (including myself) understands that there will be setbacks. we all know that they are going to be bad days. we all understand that everyone has their own personal/mental issues. we get that life has obstacles and that not every day will be a win.
BUT, you guys NEED to put in the effort & not give up! you guys NEED to STOP letting your ego win! you guys NEED to get tf off of social media and stop overconsuming information. you guys NEED to claim your desires/desired life, stay consistent & persist until your desires/desired life has materialized.
because guess what, a day turns into a year pretty quickly, and you'll have gone another year of NOT having your desires/desired life, and it's going to be no one's fault but yourself...
do you REALLY want another year of watching everyone else get what they want besides you? do you REALLY want another year of not having your desired appearance, your sp, or financial freedom?
REALLY?
i hope the answer is no...because that's a HUGE waste of time that could be used to actually have the things & life you want.
everyone deserves to live the life they want...but at the end of the day, no one & nothing has the power to manifest the life you want but YOU.

1.2k, carcar, late night condom run
âThis isââ
He means to say humiliating. Exceedingly mortifying. Theyâre both wearing obnoxious baseball caps, as if thatâll serve as sufficient disguises. Carlos is sporting a shit-eating grin, and the night air has turned his cheeks pink, obvious even under the brim of his cap.Â
This is. Actually the most fun heâs had in awhile.Â
Itâs unlike him to be helpless in the face of Carlosâs obvious glee. But itâs late, and both their shields are a little flimsy.
He trails slightly behind, watching the way even Carlosâs feet seem giddy. The stupidest thought crosses his mind: I donât see you this happy on Sundays, isnât that something, and it takes all of his willpower to force the words back down his throat.Â
âThis is, what? Come on, Oscar.â He doesnât like it when Carlosâs voice dips like that, turns teasing. Turns him all warm. âDonât tell me youâve never gone on a midnight condom run.â
âNot in Monaco,â Oscar says.Â
He only realizes Carlos has stopped when he bumps his nose into something. Presumably Carlosâs back. Reluctantly, Oscar looks up from Carlosâs feet. Carlos is wearing a soft, amused expression.Â
Oh. He might have just insinuated he hasnât gone out for condoms in Monaco. Which in turns insinuates he hasnât been having sex since he got here. Which in turn insinuates that heâs only been seeingâ
Oscar tugs his cap down, opens his mouth to stutter out some excuse.
âAll stocked up, eh?â
âShut up,â Oscar mutters, cheeks flaming.Â
Carlos laughs. Actually throws his head back and full-body laughs at Oscarâs expense. Unbelievable. This guy. A menace. Oscar kinda hates him.
âDonât worry, Iâll show you the ropes, rookie.â
âStop flattering yourself.â
Carlos jabs a finger into Oscarâs bicep. âItâs not flattery if itâs true,â he says. His feet are back to dancing. His eyes are crinkled into half-moon shapes. Oscar tries and fails to level the squeeze in his chest.Â
Thing is, Carlos isnât wrong. Sex with Carlos has been. Well.Â
Theyâre both sporting the most inconvenient of erections, barely hidden behind the thickest pairs of sweatpants Oscar could find. Carlos had wrinkled his nose at Oscarâs choice of clothes. Oscar had raised an eyebrow, like You wanna wear jeans with that boner? And Carlos had caved, albeit with patented-Carlos-grumbling.Â
Making out like they were competing to steal each othersâ air, hands grabbing, tugging, touching. Separating only when Oscar had realized his apartment was out of the essentials. Throwing on clothes while painfully hard, stealing their way to a drugstore with a cashier who hopefully wouldnât recognize them and put two and two together.Â
Kinda crazy, doing that last bit. Kinda crazy, doing it with Carlos.Â
Carlos strolls into the store like he doesnât know the meaning of shame. Stalks right down to the aisle of condoms.
âWait,â Oscar hisses, dragging Carlos back by the elbow. âCould we make it less obvious?â
âWhat?â Carlos says. Mouth half-open, head tilted like he canât figure Oscar out. Oscarâs come to realize heâs on the receiving end of that look from Carlos too many times to be safe. âMake what less obvious?â
âOh my god,â Oscar says. Not a single thought between the manâs brown, brown eyes.
He yanks Carlos into a random aisle, throws two random packages of band-aids into a basket. Then two bottles of kidâs gummy multivitamins sitting on the next shelf. Whatever. Theyâre pretty tasty, so they wonât be going to waste. Some safety razors. Some coconut oil.
âOh,â Carlos says, âoh, less obvious with the condoms, I get it now.â
âDo you ever shut up?â
âYou know theyâll still scan the items right?â
âHere,â Oscar says flatly. âIâm getting this for Pinon.â
Itâs a pink donut chew toy, complete with raised sprinkles for effect. Dog toys for aggressive chewers! the tag says. Oscar has no idea whether Pinon likes chewing or not. Heâs not about to start caring.Â
Carlos, for once, isnât arguing. Heâs got another one of those weird looks heâs directing at Oscar, one of those that turns Oscarâs stomach inside out.Â
âHow do you know his name?â
Itâs Oscarâs turn to be confused. âWhat,â he says. âDonât you like, talk about him all the time?â
Carlos rolls his eyes. âYouâre mixing me up with Charles.â
Impossible, Oscar manages not to say.
âI rarely talk about him,â Carlos says. Thereâs a hint of a smile, curving his lips up. âVery, very rarely.â
âWell,â Oscar says, floundering. Carlos and his stupid, stupid eyelashes. âYou must have, on Instagram or somethingââ
Ah. Shit.
Carlos grins. Blinding, too bright for Oscar to face head on. In the middle of the entire store, he runs his knuckles under Oscarâs jaw. Heâs got Oscar right where he wants him. A menace. Oscar doesnât know how he goes about acting like that. Sucking up all the space in the room while being unaware of how he turns heads. Unashamedly buying condoms in the middle of the night in Monaco with Oscar as if it were something he would do any day. A menace, three times over.Â
Carlos looks down at their basket, now half full.Â
âThe cashier is going to think we have very kinky sex.â
âOh my god.â
âCoconut oil, really? An aggressive chew toy? You could have just told me if you wanted to be gaggedââ
âShut up,â Oscar squawks, even as the idea lodges itself somewhere underneath Oscarâs rib like a bullet, âshut up you idiotââ
A laugh sneaks out of Carlosâs dumb mouth, where it sees fit to expand itself until Oscarâs laughing too. Unacceptable. Oscar curls an arm around his belly, protectively. Carlos is slapping his knees. Itâs not even that funny. Itâs Carlosâs fault Oscarâs wheezing so hard he can barely breathe.
âNow,â Carlos gasps, âcan we finally get what we came for?â
âFine,â Oscar says. He reaches for the box, nestles it carefully in the middle of the basket. Looks almost natural. âNow no one will suspect a thing, see?â
âYouâre very bothered, for someone so unbothered,â Carlos says.
Oscarâs knee jerk reaction is to deny it. How many layers will Carlos peel off him tonight? It feels too much like losing, only that Carlos isnât gloating, already trotting off with their mishmash basket of goodies without a care in the world. Carlos leans over the counter, says something that makes the cashier laugh, tilts his body and jabs his thumb over his shoulder in Oscarâs direction in the universal gesture of Iâm talking about this guy in a way that makes it clear I want everyone, him included, to know Iâm talking about him.
âDonât believe anything he says about the chew toy,â Oscar says faintly.Â
Carlos laughs. The cashier laughs. Oscar manages something high-pitched that might pass off as a laugh.
They refuse to pay for a plastic bag and Carlos makes Oscar shove the box of condoms down one pocket, the rest of the shit in the other, while he skips off with the donut and bottle of coconut oil.Â
Classic Carlos.
Their shoulders bump, on their way back. Every step scrapes the edge of the pocketed box against Oscarâs inner thigh, right near his now soft dick. It doesnât matter. Just the thought of Carlosâs warm hands around him is enough to get him going again.
Carlos tips his head toward Oscar, boyish grin making him look all of twenty. He squishes the toy in Oscar's face. âThat wasnât so bad, was it?â
If he were a little braver: Iâm bothered because I know what Iâm signing up for. The space between races will hit me with a separation anxiety Iâm probably not equipped to deal with, and Iâll learn the names of not just your dog, but your familyâs, and Iâll start looking at my phone with a goofy smile and have everyone around me question it because they'll know, they'll just know, and Iâll have to learn how to lie better, and pretend better, all because Iâm into you.
Oscar takes a breath. Exhales for long enough that all the words escape him.
âWasnât so bad,â he says.

Joao Felix is in love
joao felix x reader
headcannons and how you guys came to be <3
warnings: a few mentions of 18+ endeavors but nothing detailed.
ââ The first time Joao met you, he didnât care about you. That is harsh, considering most relationships have a good start, but he was under the spell of his ex-girlfriend. The Atletico player didnât want to let her go after many scandalous events. You found the Portuguese boy attractive plus he had a shy and confident aura. After a few months, accepting that he might not like you as much as he loves Magui, you left him alone entirely.
ââ A year later in summer 2023, JoĂ€o was at his lowest. He left Chelsea after a six month loan to go back to Atletico. Meanwhile, you finished your Bachelors degree in Humanities at the University of Madrid. When the Portuguese arrived in the Spanish capital, Atleticoâs coach made him train with youth teams. In a careless response, Joao received tons of hate in the media for expressing how Barcelona, a rival club, was his childhood dream club. Atletico fans didnât appreciate this at all and harassed him until he was aware. Magui left him in the dark for Lando Norris at the same time. You had no idea this was happening, since you forgot about JoĂ€o to focus on your last year of college. One day, a mutual friend of yours and Joaos told you how bad he was doing mentally. The care and kindness in your heart felt torn as you searched Joao's name on twitter and saw the flood of hate tweets about him. You couldnât handle it, so you reached out to JoĂ€o offering support. You still cared about him after a year of cutting contact from him.
ââ JoĂ€o didnât realize how much he missed you until you started talking to him again. In return, he talked to you constantly afterwards. He always listened and smiled at what you had to say. At first, he was scared to admit that he had feelings for you. The Portuguese got cheated on by his ex and didnât want to regret opening up his heart again. Don't worry, it didnât take long to admit to himself that he grew feelings for you.
ââ As I said before, he is a great listener when he isnât distracted by his airpods. He will constantly pay attention to what you've talked about to him and what you repost on social media. He saw you had a folder dedicated to Blue Hydrangeas on Pinterest. A few days later, he bought you a ton of flowers (Blue Hydrangeas) along with other expensive things that you appreciated.
ââ When you visited his house in Madrid for the first time, you met his dog that youâve seen on social media, Floki. If youâre a dog person, you gladly took the boy into your arms as he ran to you at the front door. If youâre afraid of dogs, youâre hesitant to engage with the boy as he licked your ankle once for attention. Eventually, JoĂ€o got you to hold Floki and your fear drifted away. Floki loves you so much and the Portuguese boy noticed this. Every time you went to JoĂ€oâs house, the brown boy always laid on your lap and followed you like a personal guard dog around Joaoâs house. Joao took note of this, realizing that Floki isnât that clingy with him.
ââ Barcelona accepted JoĂ€o on a loan contract and you were excited for him. After he moved to Barcelona from Madrid, you were nervous. You were in love with him and didnât want it to go to waste by his absence. He didnât forget about you, once he settled into his new house he asked if you would come live with him. Some people might have hesitated in this position but you said yes. After graduating college in Madrid you wanted to move and experience living in a new city. JoĂ€o asks you to officially be his girlfriend once you settle into his home. He mentioned that he couldnât have a long distance relationship with you since he canât imagine going days without seeing you. He makes you comfortable in your shared home.
ââ The boy will always cater to anything you want since he moved you away from your old home. If youâre a cat person, you talked to JoĂ€o about wanting to get a cat. JoĂ€o supported your decision since he wanted Floki to have a friend when he had to travel for away games. At the adoption center, a young brown cat walked up to you and sat in your lap. The one year old cat was named âBrownieâ by the shelter. JoĂ€o and you loved Brownie and noted how her color matched Flokiâs. Both of you adopted the cat and Floki loved her as soon as she stepped out of her cat carrier. This warmed your heart as you nearly cried in JoĂ€o's arms.
ââ JoĂ€o has a set time for going to bed before training in the mornings or game days, which is midnight. You were nervous when you first moved in, considering that your sleep schedule isn't consistent. There are times where you're asleep before he gets to bed after playing FIFA and there are times where he's in a deep sleep by the time you get unready from the day and go to bed. Floki and Brownie are on the bed asleep every night beside you and the four of you sleep peacefully.
ââ Love Language? It's physical touch for JoĂ€o. He loves touching you. Sometimes his hand will be on your lower back when you're standing beside him. Every time he gives you a hug, he will ALWAYS kiss your forehead, neck, cheeks, or lips in the process. When you're sitting on your shared couch in the living room, he will lay his body on top of you and sometimes falls asleep on you. When you both have sex together, which is every night because you guys cannot keep your hands off of each other, he gives you so much praise and makes you melt.
ââ One thing JoĂ€o will accomplish doing is scaring you with small pranks. One day, you were recording a video in the living room for your job and JoĂ€o was standing in the background with a creepy mask on. When you looked at the corner of your screen as you recorded yourself, you jumped as your heart was close to ripping out of your chest from seeing the figure in the background. JoĂ€o started laughing loudly as he took off the mask to see your reaction. "Stop it Felix, that's not funny!" you say as he continues to laugh until he is begging for air.
ââ When JoĂ€o scores goals with Barcelona, he will make a symbol with his hands that point out the letter of your name. If you think that he canât make a hand symbol with your first letter, he will do sign language that points out your letter. He is thinking about you always and always dedicates his goals to you, something he never really did with Magui. Fans noticed this after awhile and loved how much you made him happy.
ââ One day, you had to leave JoĂ€o for a few days since one of your siblings was expecting a child in Lisbon. After the successful delivery and getting to meet your niece/nephew, you decided to go to a Benfica game by yourself to occupy your time. After watching Benfica win, you meet Hugo Felix for the first time. He liked you for his older brother and noticed how easy it was to talk to you. Surprising JoĂ€o, Hugo facetimed him and your face appeared on the screen as JoĂ€o played FIFA in the living room in your Barcelona home. The boy blushed and was happy that Hugo met you. A few months before, Joao told Hugo how he feels about you and Hugo appreciates how much youâve supported his big brother during his dark moments in summer 2023.
ââ The Portuguese boy loves listening to music. He will blast music in the house, listen to music on his AirPods before big games, attends concerts with you, and more. He will listen to music genres that you love and usually enjoys it, even if it's music he hasn't listened to. JoĂ€o wants to enjoy what you've enjoyed with music.
ââ The public didnât get a hold on your relationship with the Barcelona left-winger until Joao posted a story with you in it. This is seven months after you guys were official. Some fans didnât know who you were so people dug through JoĂ€oâs instagram following and saw your page with about 41k followers. JoĂ€oâs fans were happy and started supporting you since theyâre confident that you wonât cheat on him and he had a chance to move on from his ex.
ââ JoĂ€o is down bad for you and is happy that he can open up his heart for someone like you.

Rumours
Art x Fem!Reader
Summary: You hate hookup culture, so your roommate Tashi sets you up with her boyfriendâs best friend. A nasty rumour interferes with the date and confusion ensues, but thereâs still time to fix things so the night isnât a complete waste. It can still be cute and romantic.
Warnings: written in my notes app and unedited- miscommunication trope, mentions of sex and certain foreplay, one kiss.
So youâd managed to find yourself scheduled for a date with Art Donaldson, college tennis player. It was of course, the work of your best friend and roommate Tashi Duncan. Sheâd set it all up- all it took was one night of margaritas and sitting upside down on your bed, feet up against the wall, saying, âIâm kind of tired of being alone. I want to do things, I want to go on dates and I want to fall in love and out of it without the pressure for make out and hookup culture. Itâs so tiring to sit here night after night.â
And Tashi was immediately on it. She whipped out her phone and was texting someone and you didnât hear about it until the next day, sober. Sheâd set you up for a date with one of her friends. You werenât involved in her passion for tennis and you were relatively new to this place, so you hadnât met Art before. But he sounded nice enough. Tashi described him as a bit taller than her, but she stood at 5â10, so that meant he had to be around 6ft. Blonde, curly-ish waves and big ears. Youâd chuckled a little at that.
Tashi didnât warn you about anything, she was excited and set the date up for 7pm. Art would swing by your dorm and come get you and youâd go for dinner, practically a blind date. Or a vision-impaired date.
You carried out your class of the day, excited. Tashi said sheâd lay out your perfect outfit while you were in classes after she got back from tennis with Patrick. Youâd met Patrick, of course, he was over quite a bit. He was best friends with Art, you knew that much. It was funny he was never around.
When your partner for an assignment, Mary, who was one of your class friends- asked why you looked so eager to get out of class, you apologized. She laughed, âItâs okay, we are already ahead on the project, youâre allowed to slack a little.â You apologized again.
âI promise Iâm invested,â you chuckled. âI have a date tonight is all. I havenât been on a date in⊠forever.â
Mary tilted her head with intrigue, âOooh, where to?â
âSome restaurant called The Bistro?â You answered. âApparently itâs not much of a Bistro and just a nice place to eat and get a drink.â
âI love it there! They have great garlic bread but I donât recommend for a first date,â she laughed and shut the book you two were annotating. You smiled. âWho with? Is it the cute barista guy from the campus coffee shop who was totally eyeing you yesterday? Please say it is.â
You shook your head, âYou know my roommate Tashi? She set me up with one of her tennis friends- Art Donaldson?â You noticed Maryâs smile fall. No. What? âWhat is it?â You pressed immediately.
Mary shook her head, âIâm sure itâs fine. I just know you- thatâs all.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âItâs just that I know you hate hookup culture with a passion. I know you. And I also know things about Art⊠he has a reputation.â She cringed away like you were going to explode. You werenât. You found the anticipation in your stomach was fading slowly.
âOhâŠâ
âBut itâs just a rumour⊠Iâve heard from a few girls heâs only good for sex.â She waved her hands around like mad. âIt could be totally a lie but Iâve heard it from⊠quite a few girls. Too many. Just be aware.â
You clicked your tongue. It figured. âThank you. I had no idea.â
Mary apologized to you and gave you the rest of her energy drink because she felt so bad about breaking it to you- which you both laughed about. It was a bit funny, but the idea of going out with someone sex-oriented was something that you werenât interested in. You werenât about that- After being used in that way before you promised you wouldnât put yourself in that position again. But rumours were rumours.
Despite everything, a date was a date. Youâd get free dinner out of it, hopefully. Maybe. And you could always call Tashi to come get you. You went back to the dorm and Tashi had laid out something velvety and pretty for you with a small sweater and some black heels. Sheâd done well. You did your hair and makeup nicely and the clock continued to tick as you thought this over. Did you really want this?
The knock on the door snapped you out of you staring yourself down in the mirror. The time to contemplate was up and it was too late. You could just⊠not answer the door? Maybe heâd go away after a bit. But you were hungry and ramen compared to restaurant food did not seem so appealing. You hated what you were doing with every fibre of your being, but you opened the door with a smile.
He stood there in a sweater and nice pants, hair blonder than youâd imagined, and a toothy grin on his face. He looked sweet. That was your first impression. You didnât notice the way his jaw went slack a little the moment you opened the door because as pretty as Art imagined youâd be, you were prettier.
âHi,â you said.
âHey,â he replied, extending his hand. âIâm Art. You must be y/n.â It wasnât often anyone asked to shake your hand like this. You shook it gently. âTashi told me a lot about you but I didnât know youâd be soâŠâ he stopped himself and smiled at his feet. âI am too forward already.â
âYouâre doing fine,â I smiled. I tried to put my prejudice aside. âItâs nice to meet you. Iâve heard a lot about you as well.â
He smiled a crooked smile. Almost like a smirk, but I hoped it wasnât a smirk. You could like a crooked smile a whole lot better. The two of you made introductions and began to walk through the dorm and outside. âIâve been having car trouble lately. The back seats are a bit of a mess, itâs where my put the parts Iâm working on.â He said before opening the passenger side door for you. He was nice. Sweet even. You didnât mind the backseat was a mess.
âThank you,â you said, slipping into the car. The car smelled like a mix of cinnamon and apples and a bit like a car, but good enough. The conversation on the way there consisted of talking about music. He liked the same stuff you did, apparent by the amount of cds he had in his glovebox. He was funny, too. You liked that. He was cracking jokes effortlessly and looked at you a bit much for someone who was driving but eventually you got there and sat down and ordered.
âSo whatâs tennis like?â You asked, folding your hands on the table. âA question from an outsider.â
âCompetitive,â he replied. âBut Iâve been at it since I was a kid, me and Patrick- youâve met Patrick, which now I come to think he has mentioned you as well- me and Patrick went to the same tennis academy.â
You nodded, âSo itâs been your life.â
He smiled, taking a sip of his drink, âYeah. Iâd say Iâm pretty good but I would like an outsiders perspective, you know.â He smiled even wider and it only got more crooked. You smiled back. He was inviting you to watch him play. âWhatâs your thing? Your life?â He asked.
You grinned, âMaybe writing. Or reading? Itâs boring, but-â
âItâs not boring,â Art interrupted. âI like reading in my downtime. I just finished The Turn of The Screw.â
âFor fun?â
âFor fun,â he laughed. He had a nice laugh and a smooth voice. Maryâs voice echoed around your head, repeating the ghosts of his past. He was almost too good to be true. He read for fun? A sports-oriented man who read for fun? You leaned on your fist. He looked you in the eyes, trying to read you, almost angling his head as if it would help him see into your mind. âEverything okay?â
âEverything is fine,â you nodded, smiling a little bit embarrassedly. But you straightened your posture out. âYou read for fun as a boy in college, itâs rare. I like it.â
He looked down at his plate, almost sheepishly. You didnât know he was hiding the flush in his cheeks that went from ear to ear. The conversation carried on and he was still sweet. The food arrived and you talked about school and life before it and you were really beginning to see past the rumours.
Near the end of dinner you used the washroom quickly. You fixed up your blush and powder. He was nice. He was really nice and really sweet and he was full of compliments in subtle ways, about the small things. But you couldnât stop thinking about what Mary had said. Who was to say that-
Your thoughts met an abrupt end as a girl in the bathroom of the restaurant tapped your arm. She was tall, thin, with hair like red velvet. You nstantly recognized her from my first class of the day, she was a girl who raised her hand often. âHey!â She greeted me, wrapping slender arms around your neck in a hug you werenât expecting. She smelled strongly of whiskey. OhâŠ
âHiâŠâ you said warily, patting her on the back as she pulled away. âHow are you?â
She smiled a drunken smile. âIâm good! But I have to tell you something- I saw who youâre out with and I just wanted to come and warn you- heâs a player and I heard heâs only in the game for a fuck.â She giggled but shushed herself immediately after and leaned against the wall.
The pit feeling in your stomach made it churn. Things were really going well with Art, you were fractions away from letting it all go. He read for fun, for fucks sake. You bit your lip- âHow do you know?â You asked. It wasnât as if a drunk girl would give a great answer but maybe enough of one.
She pointed at you, âA friend of a friend went out with him⊠steak I think. And he was all nice-â she hiccuped. You braced yourself. Art was still out there⊠maybe. Why couldnât things just be easy? You felt the fight or flight kick in. âBut after he expected his dick sucked or whatever-â
Your stomach dropped again. Fuck! Why couldnât men be nicer? Easier? More full of love and not lust. You stood in this bathroom believing in a drunk redhead and you hated it. You pulled out your phone and wanted to call Tashi. But this was Tashiâs friend so suspicions that he was a boy who used women and it just felt wrong. You sighed a deep, long sigh. âHe expected it?â
âYeah! He was all pushy.â She said. âAnyways I gotta go, just had to tell you.â
âWait-â
She stumbled away. You inhaled again, so deep you ran out of capacity. You were not the kind of girl who valued men like that or kept them around. Was it so hard to just be loved and cherished? For fucks sake, fucks sake! You were gripping the edge of the sink so hard, your knuckles were white. He was so cute, he really was. Blonde curls, crooked smile, the way he spoke and he was so charming.
You walked out of the bathroom and back to the table, Art smiled as you sat back down. âHey, you okay?â He asked. âI was thinking of getting dessert⊠do you want to share or⊠Iâm happy to get you one for yourself.â
You pressed your tongue to your cheek, âArt⊠I think Iâm going to cut our night short.â You started, looking down, away from him. It was a bit too late, youâd seen his face fall, his smile slip away into softly opened lips.
âOh,â he nodded, pulling out his wallet. You stopped him too quickly, nearly putting a hand on his and immediately yanking your hand back.
âNo-â you said. âIâll pay, Iâm sorry I wasted your time.â Anything to get away from someone whose rumours had followed you to the restaurant. There was a time
He shook his head, âItâs okay, really. I-uhâŠâHe shook his head again. You hated the feeling in your stomach as it rose and fell again and again. âIâm sorry.â He said.
You wondered why. âThereâs nothing to be sorry about.â The rumours were too much. He raised his hand for the bill. âIâm just⊠IâŠâ you found yourself unable to lie and say you felt sick. He looked at you, eyes meeting eyes with nothing else to look at but how blue they were, with a bit of brown on the left eye. But he wasnât company you wanted to keep. âIâm sorry.â And you paid with your card when the waiter came. He looked away from you and you messaged Tashi to come get you.
He stood with you outside, the wind tousled your hair. You looked over at him looking out over the parking lot bathed in purple light from the restaurant sign. You looked away. He looked over at you, but you didnât see it until he took a deep breath. âWas it something I said?â He asked. You looked at him, not turning your body, but your head. âIâm sorry for asking, I know how it sounds, but part of me isnât going to let this go unless I know if it was my fault.â
You looked at your feet in your pretty shoes. âIt wasnât anything you said,â you replied. The silence amongst the nearby whoosh of traffic was unbearable. Your eyes met. You hated being terrified of being used- girls like Tashi embraced it for the experience but you were tired. And maybe if you were more naive or not so set on a high standard then you wouldnât be leaving before dessert. You wished you werenât terrified of it. And you wished you were tired. Art nodded. More silence.
What an awkward first date. You wished you hadnât left the dorm in the first place. The wind moved his hair around. His hands stayed in his pockets. âShould have let me pay,â he chuckled quietly. âI have to go back to my dorm to tell Patrick not only did I fuck up a date with a pretty girl but she paid too. You know youâd be saving me from him if you stayed? You know himâŠâ
His little attempts at bringing levity made you smile and you hated it. âIâm sorry,â was all you said. It felt like all you could say. He smiled a bit back at you. Tashi pulled up in her jeep and you waved at him. He waved back. A silent goodbye.
The door wasnât even closed and Tashi was speaking, âWhy? What did he do?â
You didnât know sheâd be unhappy. âI heard things about him? A girl pulled me aside in the bathroom to warn me- I was told a few things about him today and it threw me off, I canât-â
âArt is the sweetest guy I know, you couldnât even finish your meal? I get that you know what you want but I went out of my way to try and get you what you wanted and⊠Iâm so sorry but thatâs not right. What you did. You could have stuck it out.â She spoke a mile a minute.
âI heard heâs only in it for sex!â You said, defending yourself. You and Tashi didnât fight, you had to voice it or else she wouldnât understand.
âWhat?â
âMary told me- and then the redhead girl from my morning class at the restaurant told me-â
âMary Sinclair?â Tashi said. âCall her right now.â
âHm?â Her words were whizzing out of her mouth and they were sharp. She was genuinely never like this with you. She was only like this when she knew she was in the right.
âCall Mary Sinclair,â she repeated. She started driving away. âIâm sorry Iâm yelling- please.â You listened because Tashi was so firm.
âHey,â Mary started when she picked up. âHow was your date?â
Tashi grabbed the phone from you- âHey Mary, this is Tashi. Just calling to ask- You said something about Art Donaldson?â
She stuttered on the other line. You narrowed your eyebrows. This was fast. This was very strange and out of character for how you and Tashi treated each other. Tashi looked over at you, driving with one hand. âYeah, I mean. I know he sleeps with girls on the first date. And I know heâs a player of sorts- I was only warning- I heard from a friend of a friend.â
âWhich Art Donaldson?â Tashi followed up, her tone still strong. Straight to the point. You were honestly afraid sheâd crash putting all her effort into the power of her voice.
Mary clicked her tongue, âTennis player? Tall, wears a lot of sweaters. Brown hair, big nose, kinda long-â and you perked up. âHeâs roommates or⊠friends with that blonde guy.â
Oh fuck. What did that mean? You had a feeling but you hated what it truly meant. You looked at Tashi, who arched her eyebrow at you. âWho spread those rumours?â She followed up. âI mean- who told you that?â
âI heard them from Tessi,â she replied. You immediately knew who that was. That was bathroom redhead girl. Oh my god. âWhy? Whatâs going on?â
Tashi spoke through her teeth, âWho did she hear them from?â
âSome girl he went out with three months ago. I forget, sheâs a friend of Tessiâs I think and her name is⊠Val?â
âFuck!â Tashi said aloud. You were caught up in how fast this was unfolding and the moving car and Art. Who was Art? âThanks Mary!â She hung up and put my phone back in my lap. âIâm sorry, y/n, this is not fair to you or to Art.â
âIâm- what the fuck?â
âTheyâre talking about Patrick. Someone is confused, theyâre talking about Patrick, Val is his ex⊠before me. She hates his guts, she thinks he played her. He didnât, he just⊠wanted me. Someone along the line mistook him for Art, got their names mixed up- youâre right for trusting your gut.â
You just blinked. Tashi veered a little harshly. âPatrick? They think Art is Patrick? Somehow? Thatâs so- how? Theyâre so different.â
âI donât know either- Iâm sorry Iâm yelling- Patrick is the so-called player, not Art.â And your stomach dropped lower than it had before. And your heart instantly gushed. He was not a dick, he wasnât a player, he was just everything you hated to like- he was charming, kind, he read for fun, he was complimentative and funny and you had just fucked him over after what was a good date, inner thoughts aside. And he even asked you stay, god he thought he did something wrong. You felt ache in your fingertips.
âTashi, can we beat Art back?â
Tashi pressed her hand to her forehead, âBoys dorms?â
âPlease,â you said. Suddenly it was urgent. The whirlwind picked you up again. Tashi who was already driving a little recklessly turned her jeep onto campus grounds as fast as she could. You feared a little for your life. You had just done something awful to what was the perfect guy and it was all under false notions, your prejudice, your fear of someone being two-faced or fake and not being genuine.
âYou canât get in without a keycard, you have to catch him before he gets in and thatâs his car parked right there in the lot,â she veered over to the entrance and saw Art walking down the side of the building. He was sweet and quite perfect and you ruined everything. She could have called Patrick who she knew was hanging out there, she could have helped but there wasnât another thought in your mind. You ditched your bag in her car and got out of the jeep just to have your ankle immediately bend when your high-heeled feet hit the ground. What a misunderstanding, it burned in your chest and fingertips like an ache. The pain in your ankle was momentary only because you needed to move. You kicked the shoes away and ran, barefoot on the grass, across it to the sidewalk, feet hitting the rough hard ground. You had never felt faster. You didnât call his name, you didnât want to make him turn.
You ran and you ran and he was at the door, reaching for his key card. This was a great mistake- this was a crazy mistake. You almost ran into him, you stopped just before and he turned his head, eyes widening a bit. Your curled hair had grown in volume from the wind, your nose was pink, your breaths were heavy and harsh and you were barefoot.
âIâm so sorry,â you said. He met your eyes. You couldnât catch your breath, your lungs burned and your heart beat a mile a minute. âArt, Iâm so sorry.â You pressed your hand to your stomach. âSomething happened, some misunderstanding and I- I let it determine how I felt about you and truth is you were lovely but the false information Iâd been given overshadowed it and I-â you huffed. âGod, Iâm saying I fucked up. Aside from that you were perfect and I really liked talking to you.â
He folded his arms. You immediately felt small. Stupid. âArt, Iâm sorry. Someone told me you were a player and I am not- Iâm not about that. I donât like people like that, not for myself. I let someone tell me that was who you were but they were confused and they were talking about Patrick! Tashi told me his ex⊠spreads rumours.â You breathed out heavily. âIâm so sorry, I really should have asked you about it or something. Or even asked the girls who told me. They were confused and they didnât even know it. I was scared that you were some dick like the others but youâre not. And Iâm sorry. And youâre letting me ramble and honestly itâs fine because I could just talk about how sorry I am forever.â
âShe does spread rumours like that but Patrick⊠he couldnât be me,â Art said. He said it with a straight face, but what he said was a little funny. I smiled. And I wanted him to smile too. âI liked talking to you too. I thought it was going really well, honestly.â
âI was just scared, I promise. I believed it. I believed it to keep myself safe and Iâm baring my insecurities in the open right now with little to no filter- just- I didnât get the feeling you were like that whatsoever, but I was toldâŠâ
He nodded, âI know. Iâm sorry someone told you that, but itâs definitely not me.â He kept his arms folded. The ache manifested into your whole chest. Youâd been such a dick. You hurt someone kind because of a rumour. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
Your face flushed hot. Scalding. You must have turned entirely pink. âI really- I just wanted to tell you I was sorry and why and what happened before you went inside. I am really sorry, Art. It was really a lovely night things aside. I am frankly mortified and upset I acted the way I did and I just⊠I wanted you to know how sorry I am.â You expressed, your hands gesturing all the important parts. He kept his lips straight. You felt judged. I guess thatâs how he felt. âLook, Iâm going to go. I really didnât mean to make you feel like you did something wrong. It wasnât you at all. Iâm sorry I completely misjudged you. Iâm going to go now, back to my⊠um⊠dorm.â Your flush burned your skin. âThank you for listening.â
âYou know youâd be saving me from Patrick if you stayed?â He said. His arms unfolded and his small smile was back. Very small. But there. You clutched your stomach and swallowed hard. Your heart still beat a mile a minute.
âArt-â
âItâs okay. People get mixed up between me and Patrick all the time. And although I didnât like the no-reason-pay-and-leave, I still like you. I think youâre really sweet and pretty and you just ran across the residence lawn barefoot just to apologize with a million words because you felt that bad. I think that makes up for the judgment. Plus⊠it makes sense. I heard what Tashi told Patrick about what youâre looking for in a guy, it makes sense that youâd ditch.â
You breathed out hard. âShe said she wouldnât tellâŠâ
âYouâre sweet. And you were protecting your peace.â He said. He looked at his feet. âAnd I get it and I like you.â
âI like you too.â You huffed. âCan we-â
âStart from scratch?â
âYeah,â you grinned. He smiled a crooked smile and the weight was partially lifted. You still felt awful, but less so. He understood.
He stuck his hand out to you and you shook it. His crooked smile was in full bloom. You blushed. âArt. Not Patrick.â He said.
âY/n,â you replied. âDo you want to get out of here? This is me asking you out. Again.â You clarified. He laughed a little.
âYeah Iâd be honoured, but I pick the spot⊠again.â He agreed. You nodded. And nobody spoke for a moment, you just smiled. And his blue eyes werenât so down-looking. âDo you need shoes?â
âDepends on where weâre goingâŠâ you said. âThank you though. For understanding.â
âYouâre too pretty for me to care about what some other girl said about someone else,â he said. âYou donât need shoes, come on.â
And you walked off together, starting up some new unrelated conversation. He took you to play tennis, he kicked your ass but you were also barefoot and in a dress. You ended up laughing hysterically and he was everything you wanted and more. And the events of a few hours ago faded out like nothing. It became a thing of the past and all you both knew now was badly swung tennis rackets and bare feet on the court, laughter, harmony. And it was nearly 2am when he walked you back to your dorm. He carried your shoes that you found by the sidewalk.
âThat was fun,â you said outside your door. âThank you again for forgiving me.â
âThank you for running across residence to apologize,â he replied. You smiled. So did he. âDonât let anyone mix me up again? Iâm going to talk to someone about thatâŠâ
You laughed, âIâll fix it for sure.â
âThank you.â He put his hands in his pocket then immediately took them out. âI want to see you again.â
âIâd like that,â you answered. Your eyes met properly. âVery much.â
âMe too,â he said. âAnd you looked beautiful tonight. Even with your hair all messed up.â Youâd been whining about it on the court. âIâll call you tomorrow. Or I guess today.â
âSounds like a plan,â you said. His eyes fell downward. You could tell he stared at your lips. Despite all you stood for, tonight was enough to warrant it. You grinned in the silence and he matched it with his smirk-like smile. And it was mutual, the kiss. Both of you leaned in, meeting in the middle. Soft. Easy. Simple. And quick. Just his hand on your cheek, pushing your hair behind your ear before pulling away. âGoodnight.â You said. Your body felt warm.
He grinned, a little bit of a twinkle in his eye. âGoodnight.â
Rumours were just that- rumours. And theyâd gone to die, at least for you and Art. You took off your makeup, got into your Panamaâs, completely debriefing with Tashi as you did. She had been trying to get to the bottom of it since she got back, it turned out. There was going to be nothing in the way anymore, all pre-conceived notions thrown out the window.
You smiled as you fell asleep with the promise of being called tomorrow. Nothing else mattered.
